Situated in a business district of tall office blocks, Hotel Century Southern Tower occupies 17 floors of a city skyscraper. The hotel lobby is light-filled thanks to the large floor-to-ceiling windows and tall ceilings, and the hardwood floors and red marble reception counter add a classy touch. A spacious seating area made up of beige-upholstered sofas and armchairs, elegant lamps, and a few potted plants occupies the center of the lobby area. Without any decorative elements, the atmosphere here is business-like, but pleasant. The hotel attracts business travelers as well as vacationing couples and families.  

Hotel Century Southern Tower is just a five-minute walk from the south entrance of Shinjuku train station, the world's busiest station. Vibrant Shinjuku is Tokyo's popular shopping, entertainment, and business district, and many department stores, restaurants and bars are within walking distance of the hotel. The shuttle bus from Haneda Airport conveniently stops at the hotel entrance.

All the guest rooms at Hotel Century Southern Tower have wide windows that let in lots of natural light and offer fabulous views of the Tokyo skyline, the nearby Shinjuku Gyoen National Gardens, and even Mount Fuji on clear days. All rooms are spacious by Tokyo standards, especially the Executive Rooms, and a maximum of three guests can be accommodated in the Scenic Twin Rooms by requesting an extra bed. 

Decor is simple and elegant, with an earth-tone color palette. Beige carpeting covers the floors, and the simple furniture has a warm mahogany finish. Armchairs are upholstered in soft beige fabrics, while gray bed runners add a subtle, stylish touch.

Each of the guest rooms is equipped with air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a safe, an electric kettle, and a mini-fridge. Trouser presses are available on request. The simple, white-tiled bathrooms feature black granite counter tops, shower/tub combos, Japanese-style electronic toilets, large mirrors, and Shiseido toiletries. Smoking rooms are available on the 28th floor.

While the Hotel Century Southern Tower offers several upscale amenities -- including several dining options and a fitness center -- it lacks a swimming pool, spa, porter service, or a concierge. The popular buffet breakfast (not included in room rates) offers a large variety of Western breakfast foods and can get crowded at peak times. Located on the 20th floor with scenic city views, the Tribeks restaurant serves a French-inspired menu. On the same floor is the South Court Lounge & Bar with a menu of hot and cold drinks, snacks, and cocktails. One floor down on the 19th floor is a Japanese restaurant, Horikawa, serving teppanyaki and sushi at lunch and dinner, while the adjacent China Grill Xenlon serves Chinese dishes. 

The fitness center on the 21st floor is small and equipped with only a few machines: two treadmills, two stationary bicycles, a cross trainer, and a bench press. A few meeting rooms are available for rent on the same floor. Other services on offer include massage and laundry services, and there's a shop in the lobby selling drinks and snacks plus a few drink vending machines. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
