The Mercure Tokyo Ginza is a comfortable, modern hotel with a dash of French flair. It is not a design-centric hotel, but there are stylish touches here and there. Housed in a glass-and-steel building, the entrance sports the chain's signature red awning and door panels. The lobby is spacious with a red-paneled reception desk with backlit, gold-toned niches and red, contemporary sofas and chairs, and a marble floor. Throughout the property there are black-and-white photos of iconic French architecture and imagery in frames and wall-spanning posters. Le Bistro de L'Echanson is the hotel's bar and restaurant, with soft lighting and red-and-white checkered tablecloths on basic tile floors. The meeting rooms are crisp, with trim-leather chairs on casters and hardwood floors. The hotel gets a mixture of tourists and business travelers and is wheelchair accessible.  

The Mercure Tokyo Ginza is in a neighborhood with lots of high-end retailers; Chanel and Louis Vuitton stores, for example, are two minutes away on foot. The hotel is also walkable to many other interesting sites and sits above a metro station. It's a seven-minute walk to the famed Kabuki Theatre. For business travelers, the Tokyo International Forum, a convention center and exhibition space, is a nine-minute walk. Tokyo Big Sight, the city's major convention center, is a 13-minute drive or a 28-minute train ride. The Tsukiji Fish Market is 13 minutes away on foot. Tokyo Station, a main transportation hub, is a 15-minute walk, as is the business district of Otemachi-Marunouchi. It's a 13-minute drive or 26 minutes by train to the Tokyo Imperial Palace. The Haneda Tokyo International Airport is 18 minutes by car or 34 minutes by public transportation, while Narita International Airport is a 55 minute drive or 90 minutes by train.

Guest rooms at the Mercure are generously proportioned by Tokyo standards and the double-glazed windows with blackout drapes and city views keep them quiet. Some of the rooms have red-and-white toile wallpaper that while old fashioned, warms up the space, contrasting with sharper contemporary pieces. The headboards are paneled in rosy-colored wood that matches some of the furnishings and there are pops of Mercure's signature red in leather armchairs and desk chairs. All rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, smartphone docks, safes, kettles, and minibars; higher-end rooms also have Nespresso machines. Bathrooms are rather roomy compared with other hotels, with brightly lit mirrors, pretty gray-veined marble counters with white vessel sinks, shower/tub combos, magnifying mirrors, and hairdryers. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available. 

The Mercure Tokyo doesn't have a lot of amenities, though it does have a bar and restaurant with French fare and a breakfast that includes Japanese and Western foods. Room service is also available. Guests who wish to have a night cap should check on times for last call, as the bar closes early. Other features include a 24-hour front desk with concierge services and a currency exchange. Children's activities and babysitting are available for a fee. There's no gym or spa, but in-room massages can be arranged for a fee. Business features include contemporary styled meeting rooms, secretarial services, a business center, and free hotel-wide Wi-Fi. Indoor parking is available for a fee, as are services such as airport transfers and dry cleaning.
