Sercotel Sorolla Palace is housed in a 15-floor modern building with a distinctive shape resembling the bow of a ship. The interiors have a mod aesthetic, with a dash more style than typical business hotels. There are streamlined furniture with a minimalist touch, on-trend pendant lighting, and framed photographs on walls. The lobby is a particularly well-designed space, with high ceilings, a winding staircase, and red low-slung chairs. The top gathering spots for guests are the seasonal outdoor and indoor pools, and the restaurants and bars. With its location next to Palacio de Congresos convention center, the Sercotel draws mostly Spanish business travelers. 

Sercotel Sorolla Palace is located just south of the CV-30 ring road next to the Palacio de Congresos convention center. The Casino Cirsa Valencia is across the road, and supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and bars are all within a short walk of the hotel. Public transportation is also close by. Number 62 bus to Valencia center stops across the street; the Palau de Congressos light rail stop is a two-minute walk; Beniferri metro station is a little more than a five-minute stroll; and Empalme metro is roughly 10 minutes on foot. 

As for sights, the innovative Bioparc Valencia Zoo, which features a variety of African animals, takes about 15 minutes to reach on the bus. The Mercat Central covered market at the center of Old Town is about 25 minutes by metro, or guests can hop on the Valencia Tourist Bus (there's a stop outside the convention center) for a 90-minute circuit route that stops in Old Town. Attractions like the Valencia Cathedral, Plaza de la Reina, and Plaza de Toros bullring are all a short walk from the Mercat.

Estacio del Nord and Joaquin Sorolla train stations are both 20-minute metro rides. Valencia Airport is about 45 minutes away via public transit.

Guest rooms and suites at Sercotel Sorolla Palace are contemporary, with high-quality furniture and a neutral color palette ranging from cream to tawny-brown. The look may strike some as a bit bland, but natural light from the large windows add warmth. Some rooms have more pizzaz, with colorful wall art and striped sofas. 

All units are equipped with AC, 32-inch flat-screen TVs (with limited English-language channels), minibars, and free Wi-Fi, but most don't have electric kettles or coffeemakers. Junior Suites have living rooms and stereo alarm clocks, plus espresso machines. Guests should note that some double beds are two singles pushed together, though this is common for the region. 

Bathrooms are a highlight, with sleek frosted-glass vanities, stainless-steel sinks, and deep bathtubs in shower/tub combos. All come with phones, hairdryers, toiletries, and terrycloth robes. Rooms start at 312 square feet, and are generally in good condition. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are available.

The Sercotel offers a solid array of facilities, highlighted by a seasonal outdoor pool on a large wooden deck bordered by trees. The pool is circular and small, and isn't suitable for swimming, but it's a nice spot to cool off. The space includes a hot tub, and there's poolside drink service. In winter, the hotel opens its indoor heated pool and hot tub, which has a lounge and changing rooms. A fitness center, sauna, and glass-enclosed outdoor squash court are also on-site, but there's no spa.  

The ample breakfast buffet (for a fee) features Spanish fare, like tortillas and churros. The quality and variety are good, but occasionally popular items run out, such as smoked salmon. The main restaurant serves international and seasonal Mediterranean cuisine, with typical menu items like paella, Suckling Pig Confit, and Oxtail with Taleggio Cheese and Mushrooms. The Sercotel also has a more casual cafeteria-style eatery and a cocktail bar with an excellent selection of cava and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Other amenities include 24-hour room service, a kids' activity room, meeting rooms, wedding services, and a lobby business corner. On-site parking is available for a fee, while Wi-Fi is free throughout.
