Sina Bernini Bristol is an elegant, upscale hotel on Piazza Barberini, just a 10-minute walk from Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The hotel has a pretty restaurant with panoramic views and a large terrace, as well as a small spa and a fitness center. Breakfast comes with some room rates, but earns mixed reviews. The 127 guest rooms are spacious and range from contemporary to classically decorated, and have thoughtful touches like generous amenity kits, bathrobes, and turndown service. They're not quite up to advertised five-star standards, however. Wi-Fi is free, but it can be spotty. Guests should compare rates with the more luxurious Boscolo Exedra, which is located on Piazza della Repubblica and offers a seasonal infinity pool.
Scene
Upscale hotel with elegant drinking and dining spaces
With marble floors and sparkling chandeliers, Sina Bernini Bristol has a grand, opulent feeling throughout its rooms and common areas. Part of the SLH group of boutique properties around the world, the hotel resides in a building constructed in 1873, which was totally razed and rebuilt in 1939, and today is a seven-story structure of clay-colored stone on the cobblestone Piazza Barberini. Inside, the small front desk can be quite busy with the number of guests the hotel receives -- typically couples on romantic Roman holidays, along with significantly fewer families and business travelers. There’s a small, vintage-inspired
bar in a classic parlor decorated with a warm mural and velvety chairs and couches in shades of red and orange. The top-floor restaurant is a gorgeous white space with whimsical chairs featuring prints of superheroes and cherubs. Outside, there’s a huge, covered terrace where guests can dine or enjoy a decadent dessert like hazelnut profiteroles while taking in the gorgeous views.
The hotel's grandeur is a little faded in places, however, and the hotel doesn't quite live up to five-star standards.
