This beachfront value property is housed in a cream Georgian row house with a green iron fence wrapping around the ground floor and a green balcony railing that extends across the entire building. Like most similar properties in the area, interiors are largely old-fashioned and filled with lots of busy patterned carpet, floral accents, and classic wooden furnishings. The result can feel dated, but attractive touches of the Georgian aesthetic still linger in oval gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers, and staircase with a thick wooden banister that leads up to the rooms. The outdoor terrace with sea views and homey lounge with a fireplace are particularly pleasant spaces. This is a great hotel for large groups of people (the hotel specializes in bus tours) and dog owners who want to bring their furry friends with them (for a fee).

The Clarence House Hotel is located next to South Beach in the town of Tenby in southwestern Wales. Being in the downtown area, most of the local Tenby attractions are within a 10-minute walk. The Tudor Merchant's House, a replica of what the house of a 15th-century merchant would have looked like at the time, is a five-minute walk away. The Tenby Lifeboat Station, a boathouse with two lifeboats and an informational room on them, is an eight-minute walk away. The Tenby Museum and Art Gallery is a nine-minute walk away. The Tenby train station is 10 minutes away by foot. There's no on-site parking.

The Clarence House Hotel has 77 rooms that have varying decor based on when they were last updated. Older rooms have patterned carpet and floral patterns, while remodeled rooms are decorated in more modern neutral shades, though the finished look is a bit plain. All have carpeting and windows that look out either onto the sea or on the back garden terrace. Guests say the sea-view rooms are worth the extra money. Note that many complain that rooms are on the small side. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, hairdryers, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and bottled water. 

Bathrooms are straightforward, equipped with showers or shower/tub combos. Most have separate hot and cold taps in the sinks, which may prove bothersome for some. Hairdryers are provided but the only free toiletry offered is soap (no shampoo or conditioner). The hotel has several dog-friendly rooms for a fee.

The Clarence House Hotel is across the street from South Beach, Tenby's beautiful mile-and-a-half (2.4 kilometers) long sandy beach. There is a terrace on the cliff's edge with lots of tables and chairs, plus gorgeous views of the sea. The hotel also has a garden terrace at the back of the hotel.  

An on-site restaurant has a full bar with happy hours specials all week. Breakfast is not included in room rates. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi throughout and two lounges (one for TV watching and one for quieter activities).
