Louis Zante Beach

Perched on an expansive green lawn above the turquoise Laganas Bay, the main building is clean, modern, and white. Stone pathways criss-cross the well-kept yet pleasantly natural-looking grounds dotted with pine, eucalyptus, and palm trees, and flowering shrubs. This hotel is large and spread out, with the main building housing the lobby and many guest rooms. The lobby is spacious and bright, with seating areas decorated with modern furniture in vivid red and green. A large front desk is centrally located, and tour and travel information is available, as well as several public computers and printers. Big windows flood much of the space with natural light, and doorways lead to the outdoor gardens and dining areas, with nearby elevators and stairs giving guests access to guest rooms and the fitness center. Guests, including families with kids, tend to congregate around the large rectangular pool, lined with beige sun loungers and white umbrellas. The spacious indoor bar is a nice place to enjoy a post-sun cocktail, with playfully modern decor consisting of neutral couches set off by neon green and orange accents.

The Louis Zante Beach Hotel lives up to its name and is located right on a large, nature-protected beach. Many of the rooms take advantage of this location and offer views of the water and the nearby countryside. Guests are a short walk down to the beach, but are also a five- to 10-minute walk from the busy main strip in Laganas, with its wide variety of restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, and entertainment options. The property is also a 15-minute drive from the Zakynthos International Airport, and in addition to the taxis and buses that help guests explore the island, the hotel also assists guests in renting cars and boats.

Guests have several options when it comes to booking rooms, as the property offers both more traditional accommodations in the main building as well as larger, private bungalow-style rooms. Standard Rooms are fairly spacious and decorated in shades of white and pale blue with dark blue accents; the larger Family Rooms include bunk beds. Bathrooms are simple, with blue and taupe tile, and shower/tub combos. The Bungalows -- with partitions separating rooms -- are set away from the main building, and can be a bit quieter. All rooms are available with either a sea view or a view of the property, and each includes a private balcony or terrace, minibar, coffeemaker, and a small desk/vanity. Air-conditioning and heating are free but are not adjustable, and there is a fee for Wi-Fi, as well as for mini-fridges use and in-room safes.

This hotel sits right on the beach, and while access is limited to the daytime and early evening because of the area’s nature-protected status, guests can rent boats or take tours of the water to observe the Caretta-Caretta turtle that makes its home in the bay.
