The heart of the hotel is the slightly cluttered pool area, which unites a medium-sized pool, an adjacent children’s pool, and a hot tub with a couple of fountains and a crowd of lounge chairs. It's flanked by long, three-story stucco structures that house guest rooms and has direct beach access. The overall atmosphere at the property is casual and the crowd tends to be older adults, a large percentage of whom hail from English-speaking countries.

The Zante Maris sits on a small pedestrian-friendly street in the center of town,within a few minutes' walk to restaurants, shops, and bars. It's about a 20-minute drive from the Zakynthos Airport. There is no public transportation, but the town's taxi stand is right by the hotel.

Rooms are plain and generic, with 1980s-style taupe velour couches, lacquered wooden furniture, and striped earth-toned bedspreads on reportedly comfortable beds. Past guests have noted that rooms on the pool level may receive excessive noise. Balconies have stucco walls, which provide privacy from neighbors, and bathrooms have shower/tub combos. Each room has a hairdryer, a small flat-screen TV, and a mini-fridge, as well as bathrobes and slippers.

At the hotel's pinnacle is a an outdoor pool with a whirlpool on one side and a small children's splash pool on the other. The pool area is surrounded by lounge chairs, tables, and parasols on all sides; there's also an outdoor shower. A second pool is located inside the hotel and there's a pool table, a ping-pong table, a small shop, and a couple of coin-operated massage chairs. A small fitness center includes a few weight machines and a couple of exercise machines. There are also a small spa with a sauna and a scaled-down beauty parlor on-site. Food is served buffet-style at the on-site restaurant to guests opting for half- or full-board meal options; drinks and snacks are also available at the covered beachside snack bar. Wi-Fi is only available in the reception area.
