Bottom Line

The mid-range Pierre & Vacances Residence Estepona is a family-friendly property with 284 apartment-style rooms. It's located in a remote area, meaning there's not much nearby and the beach is about a 30-minute walk away. Most past guests recommend having a car to get around. The well-sized rooms are mostly contemporary, equipped with kitchenettes, living areas housing sofa beds, and air-conditioning, but linens and tube-style TVs could use an update. On-site features include an outdoor pool with separate children's pool, restaurant and snack bar, kids' club, and spa. Families may prefer the beachfront Globales Playa Estepona, which has an on-site water park and more kid-friendly facilities, though rooms lack kitchenettes.

Pierre & Vacances Residence Estepona

Scene

Warm tones and Mediterranean accent pieces create an inviting vibe

The Pierre & Vacances Residence Estepona is designed in Mediterranean style with warm earth tones, starting at the hotel's exterior. The peach-colored facade is accented with blue balcony railings, a brown awning, and lots of greenery. Inside, the striking lobby has beige and rust marble, a glass ceiling that lets in lots of sunlight in, an elaborate and enormous chandelier, and modern wicker seating with white cushions. This attractive and inviting design continues outside at the pool area. The brick deck has square blue-tile accents, and the mosaic-tiled blue pool pops against the clay color. The abundant palm trees and distant sea views reflect the coastal setting, despite that the beach is actually a bit far away. The removed setting contributes to its mostly low-key atmosphere. The hotel offers a solid list of features but travelers looking to spend time by the beach should consider a property closer to the water.

Features

A large main pool and amenities for kids, too

There are a decent amount of facilities to keep guests occupied, though none are exceptional. The outdoor pool is certainly the main attraction; it's well-sized and there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available. Removed from the main pool area, the small children's pool can be found on a a grassy knoll next to some playground equipment. A Kids' Club is also available, but it's only available during summer months. There is also a ping-pong table outside. A spa and gym are available, but they're run by an outside company and require a fee to access. For those that aren't cooking in their apartments, there are the main buffet restaurant, a snack bar, and lobby bar. Food at the buffet receives mixed reviews and the snack bar is only open during the summer. Laundry facilities on-site are convenient and Wi-Fi is free.
