Christmas is amazing anywhere (in our minds at least), but we'd argue that there's nowhere else in the world that can do Christmas quite like New York City. Lights are everywhere, snow (for better or worse) is everywhere, trees are everywhere, and all the shops and restaurants are aglow with holiday decorations and treats. Basically, the Big Apple does Christmas totally over-the-top, and the same can be said of the city's hotels. We've heard of hotels from the Financial District to the Upper East Side offering some pretty cool holiday-inspired goodies, but these three stand out as extra special. Santa Claus Saturdays at the Omni Berkshire Place

Located in the heart of the city’s shopping hub, the Omni features spacious rooms, attentive service, a great fitness center, and a stand-out restaurant with kids’ menus. Another particularly popular offering among tots this time of year is the hotel’s Santa Saturdays. Every Saturday until Christmas, Santa stops by the lobby so guests can tell him what’s on their lists before he heads back to the North Pole. Carolers also filter through the common areas over the weekend, lending the Omni a cheery vibe.

The Waldorf Towers is a 117-room luxury boutique occupying the top floors of the iconic Waldorf Astoria. Most amenities are shared with its sister property — including the great (but pricey) restaurants, high-end Guerlain Spa, and beauty salon — but the hotel has its own lobby, fitness center, elevators, and concierges, and also offers exclusive holiday perks. Guests of the Towers can request to have their rooms decorated with Christmas trees and personalized stockings, and those staying in suites can even have pianos delivered so that caroling around the tree can be a reality.

Pop-Up Haute Chocolate Bar at The Pierre – A Taj Hotel

An elegant, historic hotel across the street from Central Park, the Pierre offers a taste of grand old New York to those staying in any of its 189 rooms, especially during the holiday season. Not only is the property decked out in Christmas decorations, but the ground floor features a pop-up spiked haute chocolate bar serving four signature cocktails that are sure to keep you warm and cozy. Our favorite is “A Minty Affair,” a mixture of Baileys, peppermint schnapps, white hot chocolate, and whipped cream. If you’re more inclined to a cinnamon-y concoction, try The Mayan. The hotel will also be serving free cider and hot chocolate on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
