The first restaurant the celebrity chef opened stateside, Gordon Ramsay at The London is an elegant fine-dining spot offering French-inspired cuisine. Open for dinner only, the restaurant boasts over-the-top, multiple-course menus (that are also, not unexpectedly, uber expensive), as well as an extensive and impressive wine list. The five-course Prestige menu includes delectable plates such as foie gras, with spiced apricot and black truffle, and poached Tasmanian trout, with cucumber, preserved chilli, sea urchin, and Australian finger lime.

Gilt, The New York Palace

Gilt has often been featured on Gossip Girl.

If you want to check out this Michelin-starred hot spot, you better get there quickly! The restaurant, housed in a gorgeous part of the hotel with high ceilings and gilded crown moldings, is closing on December 15 to make way for a new restaurant helmed by French chef Michel Richard. And we just hope the new spot will be a good as gold Gilt. One of the youngest chefs to ever receive two Michelin stars, Justin Bogle will continue to run Gilt’s kitchen until its closing, with offerings such as wild partridge, with red kuri squash, porcini, huckleberry, and kale, and sweet treats such as Bogle’s inventive take on the classic “milk and cookies,” with spiced Bourbon milk, oatmeal raisin powder, fig newton wave, and “Oreo” ice cream.

Jean-Georges, Trump International Hotel and Tower

Stars: 3

Jean-Georges at the Trump also offers delectable 24-hour room service.

Jean-Georges at the Trump also offers delectable 24-hour room service.

The Trump Tower on the Upper West Side boasts two Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurants, one of which — the slightly more glamorous Jean-Georges — has been awarded three coveted Michelin stars. Unlike most restaurants in its league, Jean-Georges is open for lunch as well as dinner, and provides a 24-hour room service menu for guests of the hotel. Signature dishes include lobster tartine, with lemongrass, fenugreek broth, and pea shoots, as well as broiled squab, with onion compote and a corn pancake with foie gras.

The Breslin, Ace Hotel NY

Stars: 1

The Breslin's menu not only pays tribute to the British chef's roots, but the decor also resembles an English gastropub.

The Breslin’s menu not only pays tribute to the British chef’s roots, but the decor also resembles an English gastropub.

The English may not be renowned for their cuisine, but when it’s done well, it’s extremely delicious. British chef April Bloomfield (who also heads the kitchen at the Michelin-starred Spotted Pig) has proved as much at The Breslin. On the menu? Pig’s feet with spring vegetables and creme fraiche, seafood sausage with beurre blanc and chives, and a chargrilled lamb burger with cumin mayo and thrice cooked chips (chips means French fries, for those not well-versed in English eating.) Though reservations are not available to the general public, guests of the hotel can reserve a spot to guarantee they’ll get a sampling of Bloomfield’s English gastropub fare.

Cafe Boulud, The Surrey

Stars: 1

Cafe Boulud is one of two Daniel Boulud restaurants in NYC that has been awarded a Michelin star.

Cafe Boulud is one of two Daniel Boulud restaurants in NYC that has been awarded a Michelin star.

Daniel Boulud is known for his fusion of French-inspired cuisine with fresh, local ingredients and Cafe Boulud’s menu does just that, with offerings such as guinea hen terrine, with rutabaga, dijon mustard, pickled mushrooms, and frisee salad, and pan seared duck breast, with Minnesota wild rice, brussels sprouts, apple cider, and sauce albufera. Even the breakfast menu focuses on classics with a twist, and hotel guests appreciate priority reservations as well as 24-hour room service.
