WakaGangga is located on the rocky coast of Tanaban, on the black-sand Yeh Gangga Beach and Indian Ocean, in an area of isolated coves. The property is surrounded by rice fields and has a view of the Batu Karu mountain, helping to contribute to the overall sense of seclusion and romance here. That intimacy comes in part from the resort's layout, with villas housed in a number of grass-roof buildings with distinctive cone-shaped roofs across lush, manicured grounds with lawns, trees, gardens, and flowers. The resort's interiors have a rustic, contemporary Balinese look, with ample use of indigenous wood and stone, and elements like driftwood chairs and tables. The WakaGangga's restaurant and bar are elevated to provide an excellent view of the black sand, blue ocean, and sunset. The resort draws well-heeled, mostly European couples to its serene and romantic coastal environment, luxury villas, pool, and fine dining. However, families and groups benefit from the spaciousness of the villas. 

WakaGangga is situated on the black-sand Yeh Gangga Beach tucked into the otherwise rocky coast of Tabanan. It's a lush agricultural area of Bali known for its rice, coconut, and coffee cultivation. The resort is about a two-minute drive from a small stretch of shops and restaurants, but the area is really rather quiet and doesn't have the nightlife or excitement of Seminyak, which is located 45 minutes south by car. Horseback rides and ATV rentals are within a five-minute drive of the resort. The WakaGangga is a little over a 15-minute drive from Kerambitan village, which is home to the Puri Anyar and Puri Gede palaces. It's a 20-minute drive from the center of Tabanan, with its bustling market and Subak Museum of Balinese agricultural tools. Also within 20 minutes by car is the Pura Tanah Lot, a 16th-century temple that has sunset views over the indian Ocean. The Bali Butterfly Park conservatory is worth a visit to view the wide range of beautiful specimens -- it's a 30-minute drive from the resort. Also within 30 minutes by care are both the Nyanyi and Pererenan Beaches that are popular with surfers. WakaGangga is a little over an hour drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport. 

The villas at WakaGangga have an "indoor-outdoor" open-air design to allow in cooling ocean breezes, and provide views of the surrounding greenery. Villas are constructed with bamboo, wood, and stone and have a contemporary, rustic-chic Balinese look, with elements like local ikat textiles and tribal artifacts, The color palette is a rich beige, tan, and brown, with burgundy decorative throws and pillows dressing the plush all-white beds. Villas are spacious, ranging from 1,076 square feet (100 square meters) to 4,306 square feet (400 square meters) in size. Some have ocean views, and one villa is located right on the beach. Standard features include air-conditioning, minibars, stereos, iPod docks, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs with a good range of satellite and English-speaking channels. Each villa is situated in a private garden, with a thatched-roof gazebo terrace for lounging and dining. Some villas feature private plunge pools, and many have multiple bedrooms. Bathrooms feature a unique indoor-outdoor design, with side-by-side vessel pod sinks, deep soaking terrazzo tubs, and separate open-air rainfall showers. Villas are all non-smoking. 

WakaGangga is situated on a black-sand beach on the Indian Ocean, and the accompanying scenery is a major feature of the resort. The beach is known as a locals surfing spot, and it's also a nice place for sunset views, beach soccer, and ATV and horseback rides. Swimming is occasionally possible, but the waves are often too strong. At 20 meters (66 feet), the resort's outdoor pool is long enough for a genuine swim, and lounge chairs are arranged facing the ocean. Light fare and beverages can be ordered poolside. 

The elegant spa offers a decent range of massages, treatments, and therapies. A small fitness center is bordered by a lotus pond, and features large windows with views of the grounds. It offers a few cardio and weight machines and free weights, and yoga classes are also available. There's also a library lounge that contains books, DVDs, board games, and computers for those looking to kick back in other ways. 

The ocean-facing restaurant serves an a la carte breakfast with hot and cold fare (for a fee), plus Asian and international cuisine for lunch and dinner. Dishes include nasi goreng (fried rice), kare ayam (Balinese chicken curry), and steamed fish in banana leaf, with lots of vegetarian options and a good wine list. The restaurant features megibung (Balinese communal dining), as well as candlelight dinners, fresh lobster dinners, and room service. The bar is a good place for a sunset cocktail, and there's also a free afternoon Balinese tea service. 

A free roundtrip shuttle runs to Seminyak (drop-off and pick-up at Petitenget temple) and Purah Tanah Lot temple. The resort's amphitheater can host cocktail receptions, sunset ceremonies, and weddings. The WakaGangga also offers concierge service, sightseeing tours, free bicycle rental, a boutique clothing and lifestyle shop, free Wi-Fi, and free parking.
