An upper-middle-range ski-in/ski-out lodge, the BlueSky Breckenridge attracts winter snow lovers and summer hikers seeking to enjoy the mountain in comfort. Housed in an attractive wood and stone building with red wooden detailing (window frames, doors, etc.), the property is peacefully set amid piney woods and right by a chair lift. Interiors are rustic-chic, a stylish contemporary take on mountain lodge charm. There's lots of wood and exposed stone paired with leather couches and armchairs, blankets draped about, and antlers mounted on to walls. It's a cozy, rustic lodge vibe that's been upgraded with upscale materials and sleek finishes. The airy lobby invites lingering with a large fireplace and comfy seating, and there's even a small library on a mezzanine level with leather armchairs and bookshelves lined with a selection of books, overlooking the space. Outdoor spaces are lovely too, especially the pool and hot tubs that offer views of the woods and mountains in the distance. The property caters to families or groups of snow-seekers and those needing some summer respite in the mountains, thanks to its multi-bedroom units and well equipped kitchens that allow for self-catering.

The hotel occupies a prime location, especially for those looking to hit the slopes or hike the trails in the summer. Situated between Peaks 8 and 9, the hotel has a peaceful locale surrounded by woods and is right next to the Snowflake Lift. Main Street is about a 15-minute downhill walk, or guests can utilize the hotel's free shuttle service, which is particularly helpful to get back up the hill. Main Street is lined with dining options, bars, and shops, and is home to the Breckenridge Welcome Center. Other attractions in town include the Riverwalk Event Center (12-minute walk or three-minute drive), the Breckenridge Brewery (20-minute walk or seven-minute drive), and the Stephen C. West Ice Arena (five-minute drive). Denver and Denver International Airport are about a two-hour drive away.

The hotel offers condos ranging in size from one- to four-bedroom units. The contemporary decor is tasteful and the spaces are clean. Wood floors (carpets in bedrooms) are complemented by earthy tones, and there are some rustic details peppered about like branch-like headboards, antler lamps, and cowhide rugs. Framed mountain prints dot the walls. 

All units have living rooms with fireplaces and comfy couches and armchairs. Condos also have dining areas and kitchens equipped with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, including four-burner stoves, ovens, microwaves, full fridges, coffeemakers, dishwashers, blenders, and cooking- and dish-ware. Washing machines and dryers are especially nice for long-term stays. Other standard amenities include flat-screen TVs in both living rooms and bedrooms (plus DVD players in living rooms) and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms look chainlike, but they're clean and pleasant, with shower/tub combos, heated floors, and L'Occitane toiletries. Hairdryers are provided. Pleasant balconies have tables and chairs. Views vary; some overlook the mountains or forest, while others have views over the pool or hotel grounds.

Features are focused mostly on leisure, but there are no dining options. The hotel's heated outdoor pool is one of its highlights, with three hot tubs and a nice pool deck lined with padded loungers. It's a lovely space with views over the forest and mountains beyond. Pool towels are provided. The bright fitness center is equipped with several (though not too many) Precor machines. There's a steam room, as well as locker rooms. The spa offers a wide list of treatments, including a variety of massages, facials, nail services, and waxing.

The CU Tavern is small but cozy, with leather armchairs around a fireplace and a small bar. A flat-screen TV shows sports, and drinks are available in the afternoons/evenings. For a different sort of entertainment, a game room is well equipped with a variety of arcade games as well as a ping-pong table and foosball. The lobby library offers a corner in which to relax with a book. There's also a business center with computers and printers. Wi-Fi is free throughout. Meeting and event space is available for various functions -- including weddings. Parking is free.
