Sitting on the border between Park Slope and Gowanus, Hotel Le Bleu couldn’t have a more convenient location. It’s only four blocks from the subway trains to Manhattan (just a 20-minute ride), but its surrounding neighborhoods have plenty to offer on their own. Though its exact location is on a rather industrial street, if you walk a few minutes in any direction, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and more. Rooms are modern and clean and feature high-end amenities like Bose sound systems -- and rates are about half of what you’d find in Manhattan. Guests can enjoy free parking, Wi-Fi, and a continental breakfast.

If you’re looking for a budget stay in trendy Williamsburg, Hotel Le Jolie is it. Smack dab in the middle of the popular neighborhood, the hotel is conveniently located to many restaurants, bars, and music venues, but guests should note that it’s also right next to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, a loud highway. Despite this, the hotel itself has recently undergone a major renovation, meaning its rooms are quite contemporary and colorful. A continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, and first-come, first-served parking are free, and an on-site concierge can assist guests with travel plans and discounts for attractions. The hotel is also eco-friendly and LGBT-friendly.

Located just a few blocks from Hotel Le Bleu, the Holiday Inn Express Brooklyn also sits between Gowanus and Park Slope -- right on the same block as the subway to Manhattan. While it has easy access to the restaurants, bars, and shops in the area and offers a free continental breakfast and Wi-Fi-, the hotel has a daily fee for parking. Rooms aren’t as trendy as Hotel Le Bleu’s but they are still modern with only slight wear and tear. With an affordable price point, this hotel makes a great choice for budget-minded travelers.

The Gowanus/Park Slope border is a budget hotel hot spot, with Super 8 Brooklyn being located in the same area. As with the others, guests can expect an industrial street, with the main neighborhood attractions being located just a short walk away. There are thin walls at this hotel, so guests should be aware that some noise may come in from the busy street. For a Super 8, rooms are well appointed with contemporary and clean decor. The continental breakfast and Wi-Fi are free, as is limited parking.

While this hotel is technically located in Williamsburg, it’s in a more remote corner of the neighborhood, near the Brooklyn Navy Yard -- meaning it’s not near much public transportation, and it’s out of the main coverage zones of taxis. You might want to download a ride sharing app if you stay here, though the hotel offers shuttles to the subway and Times Square (guests should note that they run on a very specific schedule, are one-way, and are not available on Saturdays). At the Pointe Plaza, there are suites available that offer separate living rooms and bedrooms, as well as kitchens, which is helpful for families. Some rooms have views of the Manhattan skyline. As the hotel is located in the Hasidic Jewish part of the neighborhood, area restaurants and stores might have restricted hours. 

While you might not think of New York as a B&B kind of town, you can head to the neighborhood of Prospect Lefferts Gardens to find one. Housed in an 1898 townhome, the bed-and-breakfast offers guests a more authentic apartment-style New York stay. It’s located just a few blocks from Prospect Park and the express subway trains to Manhattan, but the primarily residential neighborhood is certainly not known as a tourist hot spot and can be iffy at night. Street parking is free, as is the Wi-Fi, but most accommodations don’t have en-suite baths. Guests should be aware that the minimum age is 10 years old, there’s a minimum stay requirement of three to five nights, and there are many stairs on the property.

The up-and-coming neighborhood of Crown Heights might not be every tourist’s first pick, but it does offer convenient subway service into Manhattan as well as affordable rates at its hotels. We recommend the Best Western Plus Arena Hotel on Atlantic Avenue, the main thoroughfare through the neighborhood. Restaurants and bars have been popping up nearby, especially on nearby Nostrand Avenue and Franklin Avenue, making the spot more attractive than in years past. At the hotel, decor is modern, and rooms offer amenities like flat-screen TVs, cotton robes, microwaves, mini-fridges, and Cuisinart coffeemakers. There’s a free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking spots (but there are only 13, so move fast.)

Despite its name, this Comfort Inn is some 20 blocks south of Park Slope, closer to the border between Greenwood and Sunset Park. The subway is only three blocks away -- and this stop includes express trains that can get you into Manhattan in less than 20 minutes. The local train will bring you right into Park Slope in minutes, too. The hotel doesn’t have many fancy amenities, though Wi-Fi, a hot breakfast, and parking (first-come, first-served) are free. The neighborhood doesn’t have many attractions itself, so the main conveniences here are price and proximity to the subway.

Like the Comfort Inn Sunset Park/Park Slope, this hotel’s name is slightly misleading. It’s not in the neighborhood of Downtown Brooklyn, but rather it’s in Greenwood, just south of Park Slope. While the neighborhood isn’t particularly remarkable (though the nearby Green-Wood Cemetery is a beautiful sight and home to some famous “residents,” including Jean Michel Basquiat), the hotel is only about 30 minutes by subway from Lower Manhattan. Rooms here are comfortable, modern, and clean, and the hotel offers a free continental breakfast and Wi-Fi.
