Hotel Prinsenhof Bruges

Traditional architecture and a light, flowery scent fill the common areas at the Hotel Prinsenhof Bruges. Built in 1930, this hotel is stunning from the inside out and even though it is a boutique, has most of the features of a deluxe property. The lobby and lounge have beautiful chandeliers and the comfortable, antique inspired, yet contemporary furniture throughout makes the hotel feel homey. Long drapes and a splendid fireplace decorate the lounge. The Bowler bar has lovely lighting and bowler hat accents. Red armchairs and pillows accent the bar as well and make it feel lavish. The breakfast room is a decent size with bright lighting, although it lacks natural light. Even the hallways have decorative wallpaper and seating. There is an outdoor terrace, however it sometimes receives parking noise. Successfully mixing luxury with history, the Hotel Prinsenhof Bruges feels intimate and modern.  

Nestled on a quiet street in a residential area of central Bruges, the Hotel Prinsenhof Bruges is away from the noise but within walking distance of De Halve Maan Brewery, Grote Markt, Minnewater, Groeningemuseum, Bruges Belfry, and Lumiere Cinema, in addition to many local shops and restaurants. Public transportation can get you to any of the attractions you want to see and renting a car is only necessary if you plan to leave the central city area. Additionally, it may be difficult to get out of and around the city in a car due to the local traffic.

Antique, comfy furniture decorates the rooms at this hotel and each room has a different style from the wallpaper to the color scheme to the tile. Contemporary floral wallpaper and mirrored doors look cheery and bright. Even though it’s downtown, the rooms are quiet. Soft armchairs in neutrals provide extra seating while detailed carpets are a cozy touch. Accent colors in the bedspreads, pillows, and drapes in most rooms are bright and each room features robes and slippers plus a coffeemaker, wine, flat-screen TVs, and a stocked minibar. The modern bathrooms are large and have Fragonard amenities plus heated towel racks. Separate tubs and walk-in showers with rainfall shower heads are in some rooms as is a small balcony with views of historic buildings; other rooms may be dark and hear parking lot noise.

Although there is no fitness center, meeting room, or spa, there is free Wi-Fi, free newspapers in the lobby, and a free guided tour. The Hotel Prinsenhof Bruges is pet-friendly and your furry friend even receives a welcome gift; pets have a daily fee, however. There is room service with limited hours and a plain and small business center. Babysitting and parking are available, however, parking has a daily fee. The breakfast room serves a plentiful, high-end breakfast but it’s pricey, and The Bowler Bar is a cozy place for local drinks.
