Evenia Olympic Palace is a four-pearl all-inclusive resort with a sprawling kid-friendly pool complex and family features galore. With six pools, dragon-themed waterslides, a spa, a buffet restaurant, and a bar, there’s plenty to keep the family entertained. The 167 rooms are pleasant and modern. Each comes with two flat-screen TVs, balconies, and microwaves. Guests on the all-inclusive plan can access a free shuttle to the beach. But the resort has a few pesky fees -- for the spa, gym, and Wi-Fi. As an alternative, Hotel Guitart has similar amenities and rooms, and Wi-Fi is free.

Hotel Anabel is a mid-range hotel located within walking distance both of the beach and the city center. Featuring contemporary decor, a solid spa, an appealing pool area, and a quality buffet restaurant, the hotel is a welcome departure from the many dated all-inclusive properties in Lloret. Reasonable rates, and freebies such as Wi-Fi and poolside towel service, are big pluses. Just note that there are fees for access to the fitness center and for parking.

While there are other all-inclusive resorts in the area, few offer as many great amenities as this hotel, including several large pools; a great water park complete with a pirate ship and slides; and a spa. The hotel underwent renovations in 2014, and most rooms are cheerful and contemporary, with flat-screen TVs and balconies. However, some common areas -- such as the restaurant -- could use an update as well. Location in a quiet part of Lloret, within walking distance of the city center, is a plus -- but guests should note that there are a few pesky fees, including for Wi-Fi, and for use of tennis courts and in-room safes.

Offering a welcome respite from the crowds and concrete of nearby Lloret, this upper-middle-range 76-room hotel sits on a tranquil, pine-covered hill overlooking the water. Relaxing poolside is a popular pastime here; however, guests craving a toes-in-the sand experience need only follow the pretty path down to Santa Cristina Beach, the sandy crescent that is Hotel Santa Marta’s greatest asset. In addition, the property has tennis courts plus a modern spa with a fitness center, but its rooms are rather dated in terms of both decor and equipment. Anyone looking for a full-on resort experience closer to Lloret should consider the four-pearl Evenia Olympic Palace instead. 

Hotel GHT Aquarium & SPA is a family-friendly budget hotel located a short walk from Fenals Beach. It features 240 rooms with balconies, air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and 2015-renovated decor. Features include a nice pool, a decent buffet restaurant, and a small fitness center. The highlight, however, is the adults-only spa, which offers a heated pool, heated loungers, a steam room, whirlpool, and sensation showers. For beachfront digs, consider Hotel Santa Marta, though rooms there are dated.

While the two-and-a-half-pearl Els Llorers apartment complex may be low on frills, it covers all the basics. Housing 73 self-catering apartments, the complex has two small pools set in attractive, sunny terraces, and a restaurant and bar serving international and regional cuisines. Located in a residential area, there's very little in the immediate area, and the town center is a six-minute drive. A free shuttle runs to the sandy beach, which is .a 25-minute walk away. Apartments are simple and bright, with well-equipped kitchens, flat-screen TVs, and sofa beds, but in-room Wi-Fi requires a fee. Two-Bedroom Apartments fit up to six people. Travelers looking for a hotel in a more bustling location might prefer Hotel Acapulco in central Lloret de Mar. 

The budget-friendly Costa Encantada is a solid pick for families and groups. It offers 281 studios and apartments with fully equipped kitchens, balconies or terraces, and flat-screen TVs. They may not be stylish, but feature all the basics, and offer access to a couple of pools -- including one for kids -- a small spa, a solid buffet restaurant, and a kids’ club. Location within walking distance of Fenals Beach and the city center is a big plus. Just note that there are a number of pesky fees, including for Wi-Fi, or indoor parking, and for use of in-room safes and padel courts.

Hotel Acapulco is a solid mid-range resort in a central location in Lloret de Mar. It is certainly not a four-star hotel as advertised, but its rooms are clean and bright, and it does offer a few nice amenities, including a pool with a whirlpool and an area for kids, a large restaurant serving a decent buffet daily, and a tiny spa with one treatment room. There are family-friendly apartment-style rooms complete with a kitchenette, a furnished terrace, and a separate living area. However, decor is basic and generic overall; exterior-facing rooms in the lower floors can get street noise; and a few rooms have not been renovated since 2011, and still feature dated decor. 

Alba Seleqtta is a mid-range hotel located in a quiet area a short walk from the beach and the city center. It features 180 contemporary rooms with balconies and HD flat-screen TVs. Junior Suite Design are particularly appealing, with carved wooden headboards, accent walls, and jetted tubs. The hotel offers a wide array of on-site amenities, including a pool, a spa, a solid Mediterranean restaurant, and a kids’ club. Just note that there are a number of pesky fees -- such as Wi-Fi, parking, and for use of mini-fridges -- and that there have been complaints of poor soundproofing in rooms.

Gran Hotel Monterrey is an upscale property located within walking distance of the city center. Most of its 200 rooms feature flat-screen TVs, minibars, terraces with garden or ocean views, and wooden floors. But lower-category rooms (Comfort and Superior) are underwhelming for a hotel in this price range. Property highlights include a spa complete with hydrotherapy and treatment rooms; a pool surrounded by quiet gardens; a Mediterranean restaurant with outdoor seating; a casino; a beach club; and an outdoor lounge. While the hotel offers fitness activities during the summer months, it lacks a fitness center.

The Astoria Park is a small upper-middle-range hotel centrally located in Lloret de Mar. Room decor is a little generic and basic, but all units have balconies, flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Many feature jetted tubs. There’s a solid buffet restaurant with outdoor seating, and a lobby bar with a few computers. But the highlight here is arguably the rooftop heated pool complete with a sauna, a steam room and two whirlpools. The hotel’s proximity to the beach doesn’t hurt either.

This GHT is a large, budget hotel with an all-inclusive option located a short walk from a nice beach. While amenities such as a small spa; two large pools; free Wi-Fi; and kids’ club are all great perks, rooms are dated and poorly soundproofed, and there are myriad pesky fees. Suites, however, are contemporary and feature small kitchenettes (no hobs, though), and terraces complete with a whirlpool. Those who want to sit by the pool may want to wake up early, as there aren’t a ton of loungers.

Gran Hotel Don Juan is a huge value property conveniently located a short walk form the beach and the city center. It features a wide array of amenities, including two pools, three restaurants, a kids’ club, and poolside massages. But rooms are small and dated, and soundproofing is lacking. Low rates and all-inclusive meal plans draw groups of young partiers, so those looking to spend a quiet, relaxing vacation by the pool may want to stay elsewhere.

With a pool, a kids’ club, an adequate buffet restaurant, and a small spa, the H Top Palm Beach is a decent pick for families and couples on a budget. Rooms, however, are hit or miss. While Superior Rooms have been renovated and feature air-conditioning, nice bathrooms, and updated tiling on floors, Standard units are tired and dated. Location within walking distance of the beach and the city center is a plus, but the property is on a busy road, so light sleepers may want to request a room at the rear of the hotel.

The H Top Royal Beach is a large budget hotel located down the street from Fenals Beach. It is not as upscale as its advertised 4-star rating suggests, but it does have a few nice perks. Highlights here include a rooftop featuring two whirlpools, a bar, and loungers; a nice pool with an area for kids; and a kids’ club offering activities both for kids and teenagers. Rooms are adequate overall, with furnished balconies, generic decor with wood accents, and air-conditioning. However, all units have small tube TVs, there’s a fee for Wi-Fi, and lower floors can get noise.
