Hotel Copenhagen Crown

Copenhagen Crown Hotel makes a memorable first impression via the lovely outdoor patio guests must pass through to enter the hotel. It’s filled with green metal furniture on stone floors which are complemented by green potted plants and a colorful patchwork statue of an elephant. Inside, the lobby is clean and minimalistic in style with white walls that contrast with the cherry wood floors and wooden front desk and lobby bar. There’s a hint of vintage in the silver hanging lamps. Hallways are small and would be boring except for the black and white photography. Several areas of the hotel look dated, like the lounge which has colorful artwork and leather cream sofas on moss green wall-to-wall carpet. Guests note carpet stains in hallways. The hotel attracts a range of guests, though its mostly couples who don’t mind the sparse rooms and simple selection of features in exchange for lower rates. 

This hotel sits on the outer edges of Copenhagen's city center which makes it easy to reach some attractions on foot. Surrounding streets are filled with restaurants, cafes, and shops, and the closest train station a 10-minute walk away. The Jorgen Lake is a four-minute walk from the property. It’s a 12-minute walk to Tivoli Gardens, a 19th-century style amusement park, and 18 minutes on foot to the National Museum of Denmark. Stroget, a pedestrian shopping street, is about 20 minutes away. It takes 25 minutes on foot to reach the Christiansborg Palace. The Copenhangen Airport is a 25-minute drive away. 

Decor in all rooms is simple and pleasant with striped carpet and generic bed frames covered in white bedding and a solid-colored blanket with circular designs. Framed city photographic prints on the walls break up the starkness. With that said, some guests report cleanliness issues and stains on carpets and curtains. Sparse amenities include free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and small desks. There’s no air-conditioning, kettles, mini-fridges, or even safes. Bathrooms are small and functional with small showers, toiletries, and hairdryers. Room views vary between the hotel's courtyard and city streets. 

Though Copenhagen Crown Hotel isn’t that big of a property, it offers a decent selection of features like a lobby bar that serves a variety of drinks. Guests can enjoy a drink in the cozy indoor lounge area that has a selection of books. There’s a cold breakfast buffet in the mornings (that can be included in the rates for extra) of fruit, pastries, meats, cheeses, and soft-boiled eggs. There is a restaurant within the same building, but it’s not owned by the hotel. While the hotel lacks a gym, they offer bikes for rent (a great way to get around Copenhagen). A single meeting space holds up to 20 people. Free Wi-Fi and a public computer are available. The hotel offers discounted parking at a nearby parking garage.
