The Dimitrion is attached to a modern ice cream and Greek frozen yogurt shop with a pop deco vibe. The venue’s main counter faces the street, and colorful chairs provide seating where customers can enjoy the ice cream and watch street life. Inside, the gray-toned, minimalistic lobby is chic with funky feathered lights hanging over a sleek bar. The on-site restaurant is decorated more formally and has an outdoor seating area in need of a revamp. Outside, the pool area seems a bit cramped and dreary, with lounge chairs lined up on the concrete inside the enclosed area. The cute stone bar by the pool adds a nice touch, however, and music is played there in the evenings.  

The hotel is located on the main street in Hersonissos, tucked between an ice cream shop and a souvenir shop. Other shops and restaurants line the street, as do bars and discotheques. It’s also a short walk to the beach, where water-based sports like jet-skiing and parasailing are available, and it’s a 25-minute drive to Heraklion International Airport. Historical attractions like the Heraklion Archaeological Museum and the Palace of Knossos are a 30- to 35-minute drive west, while the Dimitrion itself recommends visiting the historical museum in Lychnostatis, a short drive away. 

Guest rooms have modern paint schemes, dark wood furniture, and tiled floors. The balconies are quite large but a little dated. Still, all units have wall-mounted flat-screen TVs and mini-fridges. Bathrooms have shower/tub combinations and dated facilities that include gray tiles and mirrors in need of a refresh. Guests reveal that the scheduled cleanings can be infrequent. 

The Dimitrion has a big fitness center with three treadmills and a variety of benches, free weights, and resistance machines. There’s also a tanning bed and a small sauna. The hotel has an outdoor pool with a whirlpool and bar with foosball and billiards tables, and small children enjoy the plastic playground equipment found on the property's lawn. Evening entertainment for adults includes poolside music and karaoke. Visitors also have access to a lobby bar, an Internet corner, and Wi-Fi throughout the property, though additional fees are applied forWi-Fi in guest rooms. The on-site restaurant specializes in Greek cuisine and is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, providing full-board, half-board, and breakfast-only options. Still, guests have complained about the lack of variety with food and drinks.
