Olympic Lagoon Resort Paphos is an upscale all-inclusive resort located right on the beach in Paphos, not far from the city's well-known archaeological attractions. The four-pearl Sentido Thalassa Coral Bay is a quiet beachfront hotel just north of Paphos. All of the 100 rooms have views out over the sea and feature soft decor and furnished balconies. While the hotel does offer a meeting room, amenities are largely geared toward leisure travelers and include a lovely spa with free steam and sauna facilities, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, and direct access to a sandy beach with lounge chairs and a beach bar. There are also two on-site restaurants, one with show cooking and themed nights, the other with a la carte fine dining. All-inclusive rates are available. As this is an adult-only property, travelers with kids should cross it off their list, and instead look into staying at the family-friendly Coral Beach Hotel Paphos, located right next door.

The four-pearl SENTIDO Cypria Bay is an all-inclusive beachfront resort that's popular with British and German package tourists, especially families. There are 293 rooms in total, many with sea views, and all are designed with families in mind, with extra beds or at least enough room for rollaways. Facilities include a huge outdoor lagoon pool with a swim-up bar and an adjacent kids' pool, a game room with pool, air hockey, arcade games, tennis courts, a fitness center with free classes, an indoor pool with a huge hot tub, and a buffet restaurant with evening entertainment six nights a week. Couples wanting something a bit lower-key may want to consider the hotel's neighboring sister property, the Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach Hotel & Spa, which doesn't allow guests under age 16.

The mid-range Louis Phaethon Beach, outside Cyprus’ coastal town of Paphos, is a family-friendly resort with plenty to do for all ages. The water park is a highlight of the kids’ facilities -- which includes a mini-club -- but the rocky beach is disappointing. Meanwhile, parents can take advantage of the spa offering massages and facilities like a steam room and gym. All-inclusive dining at the buffet restaurant is good, plus there’s an Asian restaurant open in peak season. The 422 rooms are small and simple with mini-fridges, flat-screen TVs, and kettles, plus an option for two sofa beds to accommodate kids. For something closer to town, check out Amphora Hotel & Suites, where modern rooms and a nicer beach are pluses, but the kids’ facilities are less extensive. 

Kefalos Beach Tourist Village is a three-pearl family-friendly apartment resort located right on the beach and a few minutes' walk from the Tomb of the Kings. The 259 apartments here range from studios to three-bedroom units, and all have kitchens or kitchenettes for guests who would prefer self catering over the property's optional all-inclusive offering. Facilities are on par with what one would expect of a more traditional resort and include indoor and outdoor pools, a large fitness center, and a seasonal kids' club. There are also a couple of restaurants and bars, but the food quality isn't great. Travelers who don't need self-catering facilities should also consider Louis Phaethon Beach, which has a water park and a fresher look and feel in both rooms and common areas.

Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach Hotel & Spa is a four-pearl, adult-only resort hotel located right on the beach in the southern hotel strip of Paphos. The 240 rooms vary in size, but all have similar amenities, nautical turquoise accents, and furnished balconies with views of the sea in most. Features include multiple indoor and outdoor pools -- including a salinity pool (for a fee) that's good for achey joints -- along with a spa complete with fish pedicures. Dining options include a couple of buffet restaurants with a great selection, along with Japanese and Greek a la carte options. Only buffet restaurants are included in the optional all-inclusive package. Note that guests must be 16 years old to stay here, so families should check rates next door at the SENTIDO Cypria Bay. 

The 429-room upper-middle-range Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel is a family-friendly resort on a private sandy beach. The hotel buzzes during the day with activities for all ages, including indoor and outdoor bowling and ballroom dancing, but it quiets down by nightfall. There are three large lagoon-style pools, a waterslide, tennis courts, miniature golf, and a kids' club. The property has five restaurants and a variety of bars, plus all-inclusive packages available. Rooms are dated but well-equipped and have private balconies, but views can vary from parking lot to ocean panorama. Travelers looking for a more peaceful, indulgent holiday may want to check out the resort's sister hotel, the adult-only Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites.

The upper-middle-range Aliathon Holiday Village in the seaside town of Paphos is a family-friendly resort offering a host of activities for all ages. The 329 rooms are spread amongst two villages, one of which includes a water park and kids' camp facilities. Cynthiana Beach Hotel is a three-pearl property located on the top of a peninsula overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The 230 rooms here are simply furnished but most have gorgeous views out over the sea. While Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, coffee- and tea-making facilities and mini-fridges cost extra in lower room categories. There's also a fitness center, a game area, and a playground. Travelers may also want to consider Queen's Bay Hotel, which offers similar rates and is located just a few minute's drive down the coast.
