Hilton La Romana, An All-Inclusive Adult Resort
Playa Bayahibe

The 356-room Hilton La Romana, An All-Inclusive Adult Resort (formerly Dreams La Romana) is an upscale property along Bayahibe Beach, next to its sister property Hilton La Romana, an All-Inclusive Family Resort and a 50-minute drive from Punta Cana International Airport. Renovations in 2019 brought a chic, modern style to the spacious rooms, all of which have flat-screen TVs, free minibars, and rainfall showers. All units have furnished terraces with either pool, ocean, or garden views, and some are swim-out. Swish features include an ocean-view infinity pool with a swim-up bar, a quieter outdoor pool for Premium-level guests, a full-service spa, beach with ample loungers, a bar, and water sports, a gym, and nightly entertainment. A casino, gym, and disco are shared with the family resort. All-inclusive rates cover meals and drinks at a buffet restaurant and a la carte eateries serving Asian, Mediterranean, and Caribbean cuisines, plus a 24-hour coffee shop. Overall, this property offers a relaxed getaway for couples, but for something more centrally located in Punta Cana, consider Sanctuary Cap Cana.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana
Playas De Bayahibe

Dreams Dominicus La Romana is a four-pearl oceanfront all-inclusive along laid-back Dominicus Beach. The resort’s 392 air-conditioned rooms have modern interiors with huge flat-screen TVs, daily restocked minibars, and balconies -- some with plunge pools or ocean views. The white-marble bathrooms are sophisticated and sleek, but have poorly designed stand-up showers that inevitably flood the floor. Dreams’ seven restaurants include French, Asian, Italian, and a buffet spot that are open late, but often have waits for seating. Amenities include a beautiful beach, three freshwater pools, a spa, and separate kids' and teen clubs. For a nearby oceanfront alternative with a gorgeous sunset-view beach, multiple restaurants, and lots of sports activities, it's also worth checking into nearby Catalonia Gran Dominicus

CHIC by Royalton Luxury Resorts
Carretera Uvero Alto-Punta Cana

CHIC by Royalton Luxury Resorts is a 323-room upscale all-inclusive with contemporary decor and a happening vibe. Opened in December of 2014, this adult-only property is quickly becoming one of Punta Cana’s most sought-after spots, thanks to its ultra-modern rooms, varied on-site dining options, and beautiful pool and beach facilities. Amenities such as an on-site spa, a small fitness center, and free Wi-Fi throughout also make CHIC an attractive option. Guests who upgrade to the Diamond Club will be treated to premium drinks and exclusive beach and pool access — but otherwise it’s not worth the extra nightly cost. Though this is by no means a spring break type of place, loud music and lively poolside activities are part of the scene here, so guests looking for more quiet might prefer slightly pricier Sanctuary Cap Cana.

Excellence El Carmen
Carr. Uvero Alto, Punta Cana

Excellence El Carmen is a luxury adults-only all-inclusive resort that sits along an idyllic beach in Punta Cana’s laid-back Uvero Alto. Its 492 modern suites have elegant interiors plus high-end features like free bottles of liquor and double jetted tubs overlooking private balconies. Some rooms add semi-private swim-up pools or completely private rooftop pools. Excellence Club upgrades come with private lounge and restaurant access, an exclusive area on the beach, and daily in-room treats. All-inclusive rates cover meals at 11 restaurants (including several a la carte eateries) and top-shelf drinks, plus 24-hour room service and activities like snorkeling, Spanish lessons, and beach volleyball. Massages and salon services are available at the full-service spa, as is a free hydrotherapy circuit, and the excellent gym offers daily yoga and aerobics classes free of charge. For a more classic Caribbean beachfront all-inclusive with similar amenities, rates are comparable at the nearby sister resort, Excellence Punta Cana.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace
Carretera Bavaro, Km. 1

test description for barcelo bavaro

Melia Caribe Beach Resort
Av. Alemania S/N

The upscale 599-room Melia Caribe Beach Resort (formerly Melia Caribe Tropical) is an expansive, family-friendly all-inclusive resort with a stellar location along Punta Cana’s Bavaro Beach. Within the grounds are multiple outdoor pools, a fun water park, kids’ club with organized activities, and a full-service spa with a thermal circuit and laundry list of treatments. Rooms here and spacious and elegant, if a bit subdued, all with free Wi-Fi, furnished terraces, and sitting areas, plus upgraded suites have hydromassage bathtubs. Unfortunately, rooms lack ocean views, some are far from the beach, and guests have reported them having worn furnishings. A whopping 13 restaurant and plentiful bars offer buffet, Italian, Asian, and Mediterranean cuisines, though food as a whole receives mixed reviews. Travelers should expect long walks around the property or to take the free shuttles provided. Couples may prefer The Level at Melia Caribe Beach, an adults-only section of the property, while families should consider the more compact Majestic Colonial Punta Cana.

Zoetry Agua Punta Cana
Playas de Uvero Alto

The beachfront, 96-room Zoetry Agua Punta Cana is one of the most luxurious and tranquil all-inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic. The rustic ambience and zen energy are on the opposite end up the spectrum from what you'll find at the booze-fueled all-inclusives around Bavaro. Instead, Zoetry offers an uncrowded white-sand beach, 96 spacious suites with butler service, a long pristine swimming pool, and one of the area's best spas. The resort prides itself on offering Endless Privileges, which includes no formal check-in/check-out times, limitless top-shelf liquor, and free laundry service on top of four gourmet a la carte restaurants (no buffets), a cafe, and three bars (one swim-up). Guests also get a free 20-minute massage and free horseback riding on the beach. It's a 45-minute drive from the airport, about as far as you can get in Punta Cana. Couples wanting to be closer to the airport may prefer the swish Sanctuary Cap Cana, while families should consider Majestic Colonial Punta Cana, which has a kid-friendly side and adults-only section.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa
Avda. Francia S/N, Playas De Bavaro

The oldest of the four resorts that make up the 2,000-plus-room Palladium mega-resort in Bavaro, the upscale, 537-room Palladium Punta Cana is also the most affordable, attracting an active and party-friendly crowd of younger, mostly North American adults. Every room has a big jetted tub, and the main draws are the clean white-sand beach, access to four free-form pools, and eight reservation-free restaurants with some of the D.R.'s best all-inclusive fare -- a good value, if you don't mind the impersonal size and lines at dinner. Those who like the variety but want a place that feels less crowded and rowdy might look at the Melia Caribe Tropical.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca
Carretera Arena Blanca

This 447-room property, offering basic all-inclusive surroundings and consistent low prices, is popular with families and charter groups from North America and Europe. The compact size and relaxed vibe is key: most three-story buildings are an easy walk to the lobby, restaurants, large freshwater pool, and beautiful beach. Guests get unlimited use of non-motorized water sports (make sure to take advantage of the free 30-minute catamaran ride). Renovated rooms have nice tile floors, white linens with simple Caribbean accents, updated bathrooms (some with rain shower heads), and wicker balcony furniture. There's evening entertainment in the theater, and for those brave enough, an outdated disco and an almost laughable casino -- not surprisingly this is not well-used. Reservations are not required at any of the a la carte restaurants, allowing a bit more freedom. There is no reliable Wi-Fi, anywhere -- best to leave the computer at home.

Be Live Collection Punta Cana
Carretera Cabeza de Toro

Be Live Collection Punta Cana is an 821-room mid-range all-inclusive in a run-down part of Punta Cana. The aging property isn’t well maintained, and though rooms have cheery decor, they still feel old and worn. Be Live has five pools, including one for adults only and one for VIP guests. The hotel’s beach isn’t the prettiest in Punta Cana (expect mounds of seaweed), but what it lacks in looks it helps make up for with its lively atmosphere. Other on-site amenities include a small spa, fitness center, casino, and an outdoor theater. Many guests complain about the poor food quality across the property, which we also found to be pretty bad, at both the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. An all around better pick is Catalonia Bavaro Beach, Casino & Golf Resort.
