The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is situated in a typical blocky building, with an attractive glass-roof walkway leading to the front doors. Inside, there's a warm and pleasant feeling on entering the lobby, with glossy floors and a large wooden desk. There's direct access to the lounge bar that feels cozy, yet dated and typical of a chain hotel, with bright red carpet, mismatched couches, and generic framed paintings. A nook with a gallery wall and brown leather couches around a fireplace feels more modern. The restaurant could use a bit of an update, as the design feels more like a tired fast-casual restaurant than a steakhouse at an upscale hotel. The hotel attracts a mix of couples, families, and business clientele who like the property’s convenient features and great location. 

Glasgow Marriott Hotel is located in central Glasgow, and is convenient to business-friendly areas and the West End. The campus of the SSE Hydro arena and the Scottish Exhibition Conference Center is just an 18-minute walk. Many sights are within 15 to 20 minutes' walk, including George Square, Buchanan Galleries, Gallery of Modern Art, Buchanan Galleries, and Center for Contemporary Art. Princes Street and St. Enoch Shopping Centers are within 12 to 15 minutes' walk. Though the hotel is well located enough to reach most places on foot, the closest bus stop is just outside the property and there’s a train stop three minutes away on foot. Glasgow Airport is a 10- to 20-minute drive away. 

The rooms are decorated in a fairly traditional English style. Beds have inlaid wood headboards. Floors feature generic patterned carpet and windows are dressed with striped curtains. The palette of red, green, and tan, combined with classic wooden furniture looks dated. Overall, rooms are comfortable, but starting to look a bit tired. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, kettles with coffee and tea, and safes. Some upper-level rooms have mini-fridges. Executive Rooms and Junior Suites get access to the Executive Lounge. Suites feature spacious living rooms. Wi-Fi is available in rooms, but its only free for Marriott Rewards Members or those who book directly on the website. White-tiled bathrooms are clean and not overly chic. They come with shower/tub combos or separate showers and tubs, hairdryers, and Acca Kappa toiletries.
