Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel is housed in a 12-floor building connected to AsiaWorld-Expo convention center, a five-minute drive from the airport. Given this location, the hotel has an energetic atmosphere, with lots of international business travelers meeting and networking in its common spaces. Guests enter to a contemporary lobby with high ceilings and huge windows, a winding glass-railed staircase, and rich colors of scarlet red and royal blue. The restaurants and bars are also have a cool and contemporary aesthetic -- expect to see plenty of glass, swank materials like marble floors, and bright pops of color to offset all of the sober black and gray. The indoor pool is an atmospheric space, with overhead lights reflected in the pool, and plants and sleek wooden benches on the deck. An exclusive Executive Lounge has a balcony with great views of planes landing and taking off from the airport. The majority of guests here are business travelers, though everyone from families to couples pass through as well, usually on their way to and from the airport.

Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel is located on the edge of Lantau Island, next to SkyPier bus station and the ferry to Macau. The hotel is directly connected via covered foot bridge to Asia-World Expo exhibition venue, convention center, and concert arena. The exhibition center also has an MTR train station, but it's at least a 90-minute trip to reach the city's more happening areas like Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui. There are few shops and restaurants in the area, and hotel offers free shuttle service to Tung Chung MTR station (a 10-minute drive), which is next to Citygate Mall and its shopping and dining. Free shuttles are also available to Hong Kong International Airport (a five-minute drive) and Hong Kong Disneyland (a 15-minute drive). Shuttles stop running in the evening, though, and taxis are sometimes difficult to come by. A 40-minute cable car from Tung Chung will take guests to the Ngong Ping area, which features the Ngong Ping 360 retail and entertainment center, Tian Tan Buddha statue, Po Lin Monastery, and sits at the foot of Landau Peak, with its panoramic views of the city and South China Sea.

The 658 all non-smoking rooms at Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel are arrayed on 12 floors. Rooms are all spacious, and start at a generous 35 square meters (377 square feet). The look is upscale, colorful, and contemporary, with modern art on the walls, wood paneling and furniture, and bright blue carpets and seating. Pillow-top mattresses are made with white duvets and sit under large dark wood-veneer headboards. Some rooms have sea or airport views. Bathrooms are done in sharp white marble and include ample counter space and glass walk-in showers. Higher-category bookings have separate showers and tubs. 

All rooms include safes, desks, free bottled water, electric kettles for tea and instant coffee, minibars, 37-inch flat-screen TVs with English and movie channels, and plug-in panels to connect electronic devices to the TVs. Except for Marriott Rewards members, there is a fee for Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Some rooms have sofas, while suites have separate living rooms and DVD players. Vice Presidential and Presidential Suites include kitchens and separate dining areas. Executive Rooms offer evening turndown service and access to the Executive Lounge, which offers perks that are detailed below. 

Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel has an excellent set of facilities, topped by its 27-meter indoor pool that's long enough for proper laps. There's also a hot tub plus a sauna and steam room. The full-service spa features tranquility zones and offers a a wide variety of wraps, massages, facials, and scrubs. Open 24 hours a day, the excellent fitness center has a wide range of cardio and weight machines as well as free weights. 

The hotel offers a breakfast buffet, for a fee. Restaurants include a contemporary Cantonese venue serving dim sum and seafood; an all-day dining and buffet bistro with international cuisine and an open kitchen; a cocktail lounge with afternoon tea and views of the South China Sea; a sports bar and grill; and a coffee bar and gourmet food shop. 24-hour room service is available. Prices are a bit expensive, but not excessively so for Hong Kong. Executive Room guests have access to the Executive Lounge, which features free continental breakfast, a mid-day snack, appetizers, late night snack, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, business services (for a fee), and free limited ironing services.

The hotel also has a conference center, wedding services, a business center, 24-hour front desk, dedicated concierge, uniformed bell service, and valet and self parking for a fee. A free shuttle runs to the airport, Tung Chung MTR station, and Hong Kong Disneyland, though its hours are limited. Wi-Fi is available but is only free for Marriott Rewards members.
