The decor is warm and contemporary, with gleaming floors, sleek furnishings, and a warm beige, red, and orange color scheme throughout the property. The bright and cheery breakfast room has yellow chairs around white marble-topped tables and hanging red lights, while the orange, back-lit bar has chrome stools and comfortable red and brown leather armchairs for more relaxed lounging. Most guests are couples and families looking for a budget-friendly option while visiting Hong Kong Island. 

The hotel is located on Hong Kong Island near the Victoria Harbor in Sheung Wan, a neighborhood full of businesses and traditional Chinese shops. The Macau Ferry is a five-minute walk away and directly next to the historic Western Market, which sells Chinese wares. The Dried Seafood Street is approximately a 10-minute walk away, while the historical Man Mo Temple is about a 12-minute walk. Lots of dining options are available on surrounding streets and can be reached within five minutes. For those looking to explore other parts of the city, the Queen Street tram stop is about a minute’s walk from the hotel, or guests can reach the Sai Ying Pun MTR (metro) station in about 10 minutes. Hong Kong International Airport is about 30 minutes away by car. 

The simple, contemporary rooms at the ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan Hotel are designed with comfort in mind -- although some guests complain that the beds are overly firm. The chain hotel's signature orange color can be found on curtains and accent walls that brighten up the mostly neutral-hued spaces. Furnishings are mainly simple blond wood with clean, modern lines reminiscent of an IKEA aesthetic. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, safes, mini-fridges, and coffee/tea makers, plus free bottled water is a nice touch. But the best feature here are the floor-to-ceiling windows that offer gorgeous views of Victoria Harbor or the city, especially in upper-floor rooms.
