Best Hotel Spas in Jackson Hole

Surrounded by stunning, snowcapped mountains, the valley of Jackson Hole presents some of the most challenging skiing and hiking trails in the world. (Visitors can also river raft, fly fish, bike, commission a helicopter ride to Yellowstone National Park…) To counter all of that alpine activity, some of the area’s best local resorts and mountain lodges operate pampering spas to ensure that downtime is downright luxurious. Take a look at the top hotel spas in western Wyoming’s big sky territory.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole

Teton Village, Wyoming, United States

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole is a luxury ski-in/ski-out property at the base of the Grand Tetons. The rustic resort has an array of recreational options, but the one we'll focus on here is the magnificent spa, where two of the 16 treatment rooms are spa suites with fireplaces, soaking tubs, and Swiss showers. There are men's and women's relaxation areas with fireplaces and refreshments, as well as steam rooms. The spa's lengthy list of services includes Ayurvedic and Swedish massages (in-room massages are also offered) and oxygenating facials. Other wellness facilities include an enormous fitness center and yoga studio. Spa-goers looking to retain the tranquility can head to the resort's picturesque year-round pool and whirlpool -- great for sore post-ski muscles.

Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa – A Noble House Resort

Teton Village, Wyoming, United States

If it weren't for Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa's modern amenities, staying here might feel like staying in your own remote log cabin. The whole hotel is cozy, especially the beautiful lobby, with its two towering stone fireplaces and exposed wooden beams. One of Teton Mountain Lodge's best features is SpaTerre, the 12,000-square-foot, tri-level spa facility. SpaTerre combines the resort's distinct mountain-lodge identity with a subtle Southeast Asian flavor, offering treatments like customizable Thai stretching massages and Abhyanga oil massages alongside restorative facials and wildflower-citrus scrubs. In addition to its 10 treatment rooms, SpaTerre offers eucalyptus steam rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, five hot tubs (three indoor, two outdoor -- one of which is a rooftop hot top that can accommodate 22 people), and a nicely equipped fitness center.

Hotel Terra Jackson Hole, A Noble House Resort

Teton Village, Wyoming, United States

While SpaTerre has a woodsy Western vibe (albeit one with a Southeast Asian twist), Hotel Terra's rooftop Chill Spa takes an aesthetic cue from the area's snowy scenery. The spa's lounge has icy-blue-and-white decor, plus a fireplace and big picture windows looking out over the valley. Don't worry -- treatment rooms are cozy, with hot tubs, fireplaces, and lots of candles. Chill Spa doesn't have as quite as many facilities as SpaTerre, but it does have steam showers, a heated saltwater infinity pool (adjacent to the resort's fitness center), and an adult-only rooftop hot tub with sweeping views of the countryside. An impressive list of facials, massages, and couples' treatments are on offer, including the Arnica Sore-Muscle Massage, which incorporates local arnica, and the Mountain Glow Treatment, which includes a sugar scrub, Balinese body palming, and massage.

Rusty Parrot Lodge and Spa

Jackson, Wyoming, United States

The Body Sage Spa at Rusty Parrot Lodge is a much smaller operation than our first three picks -- not surprising, since Rusty Parrot is a 32-room lodge and Four Seasons, Teton Mountain Lodge, and Hotel Terra are all full-on resorts with around 150 rooms. Body Sage Spa, which claims to be the first spa in Jackson Hole, occupies its own building behind the hotel and doesn't have the pools or steam rooms found at the other top hotel spas, though there is a hot tub back on the main building's deck. But despite its small size and lack of spa facilities, it earns a place on this list for its calm, upscale ambiance and breadth of treatments, including massages and facials with a variety of enhancements and add-ons, like foot reflexology.
