The 19 casual villas come in one- and two-bedroom configurations and feature Bose entertainment systems, flat-screen TVs with satellite cable, kitchenettes with microwaves, air-conditioning, and private outdoor swimming pools (cots, highchairs, PlayStations, and age-appropriate books and DVDs are available on request). A free breakfast is served daily at the on-site Tapis Restaurant, which also offers fresh seafood dishes and Indonesian specialties.

Bali Baliku Beach Front Luxury Private Pool Villas is a four-pearl property near the beach in the sleepy fishing-town-turned-tourism-hub of Jimbaran in southern Bali. The 16 villas come in one- to three-bedroom configurations, and all have kitchenettes and private garden areas with swimming pools. Hotel features include a large, modern restaurant (where a free buffet breakfast is served daily) with a kids' menu, a beach club, afternoon tea, free airport transfers, tour-booking services, and free Wi-Fi. Despite the name, the property is not actually on the beach, though it's a quick three-minute walk away.

The Ahimsa Beach Resort is a quiet, four-pearl villa property off a quiet road in South Bali's Jimbaran. The 11 villas have one to three bedrooms, and all come with kitchenettes and private plunge pools. There aren't a ton of amenities, but there's a free area shuttle, free breakfast (cooked-to-order in the villas), free Wi-Fi, and available babysitting service. Dinners and barbecues can be arranged in the villas (there isn't an on-site restaurant), and the hotel can arrange traditional music performances on request. Be aware that the hotel is not directly on the water, so travelers may also want to consider the Balibaliku Beach Front Luxury Private Pool Villa, an upscale property with direct beach access.

The mid-range Flower Bud Bungalows Balangan is a rustic, family-run resort situated in a quiet village, about a five-minute walk from the beach. The resort has a back-to-nature feel and is built with raw, natural materials, including thatched roofs and plenty of bamboo furniture. The 22 bungalows are fairly basic and sparsely furnished; some have open-air bathrooms that may challenge the bashful. Though they lack TVs and air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi is available. The hotel also has two pools, a small playground area, a restaurant (the menu features Balinese, Indonesian, and international fare, plus there's a special kids' menu). Rates are fair for what you get, but those who don't enjoy the rusticity here might prefer Hotel Puri Bambu.

Gending Kedis offers 21 villas with one to four bedrooms, each with its own pool, fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a microwave, and an oven. Though the villas are not beachfront, anyone staying at the Gending Kedis has full privileges at the Jimbaran Beach Club, which is about five minutes away on a free shuttle and sports a vast expanse of white-sand beach and lounge chairs for guests. 

Alindra Villa is an upscale resort in Jimbaran, located 20 minutes from the airport and 10 minute from the beach. The 12 rooms range from traditional hut-like units to expansive, luxury-home-like villas with private pools. Features include a restaurant with free breakfast, free property-wide Wi-Fi, and a beautiful outdoor pool. The hotel's inland location might be a deal-breaker for some; those travelers may want to compare rates with the beachfront Kupu Kupu Jimbaran-Rooftop Suites & Spa.
