Fresh from 2013 renovations, the three-pearl Gloria Izaro Club Hotel is a relaxed, family-friendly property a short walk from Puerto del Carmen's beaches and town. The 106 large apartments here have a homey feel, with simple but pleasant decor, flat-screen TVs in living areas, kitchenettes, and balconies. Low-key animation around a large outdoor pool keep kids happy, and a solid pool bar with chill-out space gives the mostly British and Irish crowd here a chance to enjoy outdoor life, the Canarian way. There's something for everyone at the restaurant's buffets, and show kitchens here add flair to otherwise mediocre entertainment. Families seeking all-inclusive deals should compare with the beachfront Sol Lanzarote, although it's a bit noisier. 

La Penita Apartments is a no-frills value property offering 100 one-bedroom apartments in a quiet part of Puerto del Carmen that's within walking distance of three beaches and dozens of restaurants, bars, and shops. Units are basic and a little dated, but all feature fully equipped kitchenettes and balconies -- some offering ocean views -- and are kept spotless. Though amenities are limited to a lovely pool, a tennis court, a kids' playground, and a snack bar, rates are low, and the atmosphere is friendly and quiet. For something with more features, travelers might want to consider the Beatriz Playa & Spa or the VIK Hotel San Antonio.

The Jable Bermudas is a basic self-catering apartment complex geared toward families and groups of friends on a budget. There isn’t much in the way of amenities, but the excellent location, pleasant pool, and well-equipped apartments make it one of the best value options in Puerto del Carmen. A simple snack bar serving fast food, lunch specials, and drinks is the only on-site dining option, but the property is located less than a five-minute walk from the town’s beachfront main drag, lined with restaurants and bars. The pool itself is pleasant and quiet, with a few dozen loungers and some umbrellas. Though no-frills overall, apartments are kept spotlessly clean and in good shape, and all feature sofa beds, fully equipped kitchens, and balconies, some with sea views. Thin walls may be an issue. In this price range, Apartments Panorama is an alternative option with cute, contemporary common spaces, a nicer gym, and free Wi-Fi throughout. 

The three-pearl Montana Club offers 67 apartment-style rooms within walking distance to Matagorda Beach and Puerto del Carmen's main strip. The rooms could do with a style change, but practical facilities include kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, and either private or shared furnished balconies. There are two outdoor pools, one with a shallow kids' section, and several surrounding sun loungers (parasols are available for an additional fee). An adjacent restaurant and bar serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as snacks and drinks throughout the day. Breakfast and half-board rates are available. Note that the hotel lacks a gym, but most guests don't seem to mind. With a kids' club and all day entertainment program, Hotel THB Flora is an alternative choice for families.

Hotel Floresta is a sprawling budget apartment complex with all-inclusive rates and a quiet location a block from the beach in eastern Puerto del Carmen. All of its 242 one- and two-bedroom apartments have fully equipped kitchenettes, furnished patios or terraces, and sofa beds in the living room. Decor is basic and somewhat dated, but everything is kept clean and tidy, and all units have air-conditioning, which is not always available in properties in this price range. The hotel has four pools, two located in the more bustling area adjacent to the lobby and the restaurant, and two others in a quieter section across the pedestrian street. The hotel’s only restaurant offers buffet meals and themed nights several times a week, though food generally only gets average reviews. Travelers looking to stay a little closer to the action may want to compare rates at Hotel Lanzarote Village. 

Located atop a hill a short walk from the beach and central Puerto del Carmen, Bitacora Club is a good pick for budget-minded couples and families. Its 85 one-bedroom apartments are basic but clean, and have fully equipped kitchenettes, air-conditioning, and sofa beds in the living rooms. The pool is serene and pleasant, with an ample terra-cotta deck and a small shallow pool for babies and toddlers. There aren’t enough loungers for all guests, though, and many are reserved with towels at the break of dawn. The pool bar serves breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks, and there is live music a couple of times per week. Travelers looking to avoid walking up the hill may want to consider Jable Bermudas Apartments, which is closer to the center.

The three-pearl Apartamentos THe Las Gaviotas is a simple apartment complex located across the promenade from lovely Matagorda Beach. Its 133 apartments are clean and feature convenient amenities such as fully equipped kitchenettes, patios, and sofa beds. Unfortunately, air-conditioning is only free in Superior Apartments (and not all Standard units have it), and there are fees for Wi-Fi and safes. The pools are pleasant and quiet, and one of them has a bar with free Wi-Fi. The restaurant serves up international cuisine in a bright dining room with outdoor seating and pool views, and guests can choose from a range of meal plans, from self-catering to all-inclusive (summer only). Those wanting more on-site amenities may want to compare rates at the Beatriz Playa & Spa, located right across the street. 

Located a five-minute walk from Puerto del Carmen’s main drag and the beach, the 132-room HG Lomo Blanco attracts budget-minded families and couples with reasonable rates, a laid-back atmosphere, and pleasant grounds covered in bougainvillea. Apartments are clean and spacious, with fully stocked kitchenettes, double sofa beds, and balconies or patios. Air-conditioning, though, is not available, and there are fees for Wi-Fi, safes, and fans. There are two pools on-site, including a medium-sized one with a kiddy section and a lifeguard, and a smaller, quieter one with plenty of loungers. The restaurant serves standard international fare, and the poolside bar offers inexpensive daily specials. There is no entertainment program, so those wanting a livelier atmosphere may want to compare rates at THB Flora.

The 80-room Parque Tropical is a simple value apartment complex whose top selling point is location a block from the beach and Puerto del Carmen’s main drag. Apartments are spacious and comfortable, with fully equipped kitchens, ample living rooms with sofa beds, patios or terraces, and free Wi-Fi. The lack of air-conditioning in apartments may be an issue for some. There is a decent restaurant on-site serving international cuisine at reasonable rates, and a few small bites are available at the snack bar. The hotel’s two pools are pleasant and heated year-round, but the deck around them is smallish and there aren’t enough loungers for all guests. Those on a tighter budget may want to compare rates at Apartamentos Panorama, which is a little set back from the main drag and the beach, but has more contemporary decor. 

Located within a 10-minute walk of several beaches and Puerto del Carmen’s lively main drag, Apartamentos THe Oasis caters to families and couples on a budget. Apartments are low-frills and spotless, featuring fully equipped kitchenettes, separate living areas with sofa beds, and balconies with plastic patio furniture. Superior Apartments were renovated in 2016-17 and have simple IKEA-style furniture, free air-conditioning, and nice rain showers, but Standard units are worn and dated and have lackluster bathrooms. Though there is no full restaurant on-site, breakfast, drinks, and snacks are available at the poolside bar, and there are dozens of restaurants, cafes and bars within a five-minute walk of the property. It's worth considering the similarly priced Arena Dorada Apartments, which is even closer to the beach and offers free Wi-Fi.

The three-pearl Lanzarote Palm offers modern apartment-style digs and poolside relaxation within walking distance of Puerto del Carmen's New Town and main beach strip. The 115 Apartments are streamlined and have pops of neon, kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, and furnished balconies, although deposits are required for TV and air-conditioning remotes. The outdoor pool is unheated but gets lots of sun, and loungers around it are plentiful. An adjacent bar serves drinks and snacks, and a restaurant offers international and local fare all day. Note that the hotel lacks a gym, though its setting on a fairly steep hill provides a workout. Apartamentos Barcarola Club is more dated, but it's right on the strip and has a heated pool. 

The mid-range, adult-only Apartamentos Panorama offers a good value in sunny Lanzarote. It's a short walk to both Puerto del Carmen's Old Town and main beach strip, although hilly terrain here can be challenging. The 40 self-catering Studios are modern, equipped with kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, and private patios, but not air-conditioning. An outdoor pool is impeccably maintained, and surrounded by a good number of loungers. Al fresco dining is popular at the on-site restaurant, which also serves a buffet breakfast. Unlike many apartment complexes, the lobby has a lounge, and bright colors here extend throughout the property, which includes a modern fitness center. Budget-conscious travelers may also want to consider HG Lomo Blanco, where kids are welcome at the two pools.

The value Acuario Sol offers poolside peace and quiet off Puerto del Carmen's main strip. Nearby beaches and bars are more plentiful than the hotel services, but features are reasonable for the price. There are two pools and a kiddy pool, but note they aren't heated. The 85 apartments are divided between two blocks, each having upsides and downsides. Simple units have bright living and dining areas outfitted with traditional decor, and kitchenettes have fridges and coffeemakers, but there's no AC. The poolside bar serves food and drinks. Compare with HG Lomo Blanco, where pools are heated.

Labranda Playa Club is a no-frills budget property whose top selling point is location, right off Puerto del Carmen’s main drag and a short walk from the beach. Its 138 one- and two-bedroom apartments are spacious, with separate living rooms with individual sofa beds, fully equipped kitchenettes, and furnished patios or terraces. Decor, though, is dated and basic in most, and there is no air-conditioning. The family and kiddy pools are pleasant and sunny, and can be heated in the winter, but guests have complained that there aren’t enough loungers for all in peak season. The small restaurant serves a basic breakfast buffet and a la carte lunches and dinners, and the poolside snack bar has a short fast food menu during the day. The small playground and laundry room are convenient features, but there is little else on-site. Costa Volcan Apartments are another good value option. 

Bustling and cheap, the mid-range THB Flora caters to budget-conscious families wanting a fun, active vacation. The busy entertainment program and kids’ club keep active guests of all ages busy, while the music being piped at a high volume through speakers allows for a lively atmosphere around the pool. There is a separate section with a quieter pool across the street for those looking for something a little more relaxing. The all-inclusive package isn’t as comprehensive as at comparable hotels in the area, but food gets decent reviews for variety and taste. The property’s 205 studios and apartments feature fully equipped kitchenettes, free Wi-Fi, and patios or balconies, some with partial sea views. Decor, though, ranges from dated in Standard units to simple and contemporary in Superior apartments. Neighboring Aparthotel Blue Sea Los Fiscos has similar rates and is quieter.
