Bar Harbor Inn
1 Newport Dr

The charming Bar Harbor Inn is situated on the town's waterfront within walking distance of downtown's shops and dining. The mid-range hotel has 153 quiet rooms with homey decor, like matching wooden bedroom sets and floral bedspreads. A continental breakfast buffet with pastries and fruit is included in room rates, and the property features a restaurant with terrace dining. The scenic setting makes it a popular wedding destination, and an outdoor pool and a spa are on site as well. The inn is eternally popular, but couples seeking a cozier atmosphere could consider Mira Monte Inn, where there are just 17 rooms and lovely outdoor seating areas.

Bar Harbor Grand Hotel
269 Main St

The lower-middle-range Bar Harbor Grand Hotel is a good choice for travelers seeking to stay in a quiet yet convenient location in downtown Bar Harbor. Opened in 2003 as a replica to a circa 1875 hotel, this quaint, 71-room hotel is on a quiet, tree-lined street that’s a four-minute walk to the seaside town’s Village Green. The hotel’s traditional decor can lean toward dated, but the rooms are large and include mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is included in the rates, and the hotel has a heated outdoor pool/whirlpool, a fitness center, a laundry room, and free parking. Be aware that this property is not open year-round. Travelers could also consider the Best Western Acadia Park Inn, which has lower rates but a less-convenient location.

986 State Highway 3

Eden Village Motel and Cottages comprises 11 small and simple cottages and a 10-room motel on a large expanse of partially wooded land. Rooms are simply furnished, and include TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, and Keurig coffeemakers. The picturesque grounds have a private pond with ducks and geese where guests can fish and use free pedal-boats, and there's a playground and a walking trail. However, there are no on-site dining options and the property is not on Bar Harbor's free shuttle bus route, so a car is crucial.

It’s only five minutes from the picturesque town and spectacular Acadia National Park, and features typical Hampton-brand amenities including a free hot breakfast buffet, a fitness center, and a 24-hour minimart in the lobby, plus an outdoor pool and an indoor pool/whirlpool. Its 103 rooms are clean, bright, and spacious, with mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and terrific ocean or mountain views. Some offer sleeper sofas, covered balconies, and microwaves. This seasonal hotel is open only from May through October, but it stays busy when open and often sells out. However, it's not cheap, and travelers looking to save a little cash may prefer the more reasonably priced Best Western Acadia Park Inn.

Best Western Acadia Park Inn
452 State Highway 3

Best Western Acadia Park Inn is motel-style and no-frills, but is one of the most popular value hotels in the area thanks to its clean rooms, woodsy location, and free large breakfast with hot items. Located on a quiet two-lane road and surrounded by nature, it is relatively easy to get around. There’s a free shuttle service that takes guests to the downtown areas where there are restaurants, bars and cafes. Spread out across 15 acres of foliage and five buildings, all 94 smoke-free rooms have exterior entrances. The hotel is open seasonally and offers free parking, including RV parking.
