In terms of size, amenities, and quality, there's no place quite like Tulemar in Manuel Antonio. In addition to one-bedroom Bungalows, privately owned Villas are also available to rent. These range from one to five bedrooms and can include ocean views, private swimming pools, and jaw-dropping architecture. Casa Las Nubes (cloud house) is simply stunning. The design style incorporates Asian and Californian elements with outdoor living: The entryway is sunken stepping stones in an indoor/outdoor infinity-edge pool that divide the living room with a soaring ceiling and modern kitchen. Two bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs, while the master bedroom and bathroom are upstairs. Families should note that some Villas don't accept kids under the age of 10 for safety reasons, such as a lack of handrails on stairs and guardrails around the pools. The various bungalow and suite options can sleep from two to 14 guests. All rooms come with a personal concierge who can arrange everything from restaurant reservations to yoga classes to a private chef. Daily housekeeping is included, and room service is available. 

Beautiful 33-acre grounds, a great on-site beach and beach bar, and big bungalow-style villas are all major pros of Tulemar Resort. All rooms come with great ocean views from floor-to-ceiling windows, but Premium Villas add features like full kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, wraparound terraces with panoramic views and a hot tub, and outdoor stone showers with rain showerheads. Note that this steep property is difficult to walk around, so you have to wait for the hotel van to take you just about anywhere. Tulemar Resort shares all of the facilities with Tulemar Bungalows & Villas -- it's essentially just a different rental company for the units.

Gaia Hotel and Reserve is located on a 14-acre nature reserve, a short drive from Manuel Antonio National Park. Gaia's eco-chic and elegant 22 rooms include suites, studios, and villas. Living areas have minibars, sofa beds, and dining tables of varying sizes. Tea-and-coffee-making facilities, free Wi-Fi, and LED smart TVs with Netflix are also standard. Closets -- some of which are walk-in -- hold bathrobes, slippers, and personal safes. Slate-tiled bathrooms have glass-walled showers along with modish square sinks and toilets. Hairdryers and bath products by Blue Organics are provided. Some rooms have whirlpool tubs and double sinks. Villas, which measure 2,000 square feet, have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and some rooms have split-level layouts. 

This secluded and romantic resort has 27 Villas and Suites with ocean views. All have air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and private outdoor space, and some have incredible wow factor, with two bedrooms, full kitchens with modern appliances, and private infinity pools overlooking the Pacific. Bathroom have floor-to-ceiling windows that peer over the rain forest (no neighbors means no privacy issues, though there are blinds) and rainfall showers with rocks and blue lights built into the floor.
