The Four Seasons Mexico City offers a lush and quiet retreat smack dab in the center of Mexico City. For business travelers, Wi-Fi is free, but spotty, throughout the hotel, and there's a business center with Mac computers; a multilingual staff; and scanning, faxing, and copying services. Event and meeting rooms are available in several different configurations and can include audiovisual equipment. A dedicated concierge and reception staff can assist with transportation, recommendations, and booking excursions. 

A contemporary oasis designed by renowned architect Cesar Pelli, this hotel is one of the most high-end options in the capital. Its location on bustling Avenida Reforma means immediate access to the entire city, but the hotel packs resort-style amenities into a skyscraper for guests who don't want (or don't have time) to explore. Each of the 189 spacious guest rooms and suites comes with 24-hour butler service for free assistance with unpacking, ironing, and morning coffee delivery. Technology-wise, the rooms have flat-screen TVs, multiline telephones, and electronic safes large enough to hold a laptop. Wi-Fi is free in the public areas and Internet access is available in the small, but sophisticated, business center -- which offers desktop computers, a fax machine, scanner, and printing facilities for additional fees. Meeting rooms and event spaces are available. 

Across from the World Trade Center, the upper-middle-range Crowne Plaza Hotel de Mexico is well-located -- and especially well-equipped -- for business travelers. There are seating areas all around the lobby (which is functional, but could use some updating), and many business guests make use of the space for small meetings and gatherings. A library-like area has a fireplace, upholstered chairs and sofas, and books. The atmosphere is international, with business travelers from other parts of Mexico, the U.S., Canada, and Europe. On-site restaurants, fitness center, and spa are nice amenities for busy travelers.

The 22-floor steel-and-glass Sheraton casts a large presence along one of the busiest street streets in Mexico's capital, where it has easy access to tourist sights, offices, and the metro. Its 755 smart rooms have bright, local accents, and feature flat-screen TVs, Sheraton's excellent beds, and minibars -- some also have outstanding views of the city and separate living areas. A spacious business center on the 18th floor offers five meeting rooms and four work areas with computers, printers, and phones plus secretarial services; for larger gatherings, the hotel offers 29 event spaces that can accommodate 10 to 1,500 people. There are ample recreational offerings here, too, including a pool, fitness center, and tennis courts, plus two casual bars, Italian restaurant, and Starbucks.

Business guests can appreciate the sophisticated extras at this ultra-luxe, 35-room boutique hotel: free wake-up service delivering coffee, tea, or a smoothies; nightly shoeshine service; and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. A meeting room can accommodate up to 10 people, and audiovisual equipment is provided. Centrally located on Presidente Masaryk Avenue in the up-market Polanco neighborhood, the upscale property is within walking distance of restaurants, bars, boutiques, and museums.

It's hard to beat the location of the Hampton Inn & Suites Mexico City, located right in the heart of the historical center. The 108-room property also has major wow factor on arrival that one doesn't usually associate with chain hotels: it was built over 200 years ago to cloister monks and many of the original details such as the iron railings and mosaics on the building's facade have been maintained. There's a small business center, an 80-person meeting room, and two ballrooms for events, which can also be held on the furnished rooftop terrace.

The Krystal Grand Reforma Uno Mexico City is an upscale and impersonal option on Paseo Reforma, one of the main avenues of the city. The 489 guest rooms and suites were renovated in 2015 and include a gray color palette, flat-screen TVs, and minibars. An indoor pool, modern gym, and relaxing spa help the Krystal Grand stand out from the rest of the pack, but guests complain about minor annoyances like spotty Wi-Fi and noise from the lobby bar well past midnight. The St. Regis Mexico City down the street costs more but offers free butler service and a calmer atmosphere.
