The Cesar Resort & Spa is a one-story sand-colored building near the Jardin de l'Agdal. Located off a two-lane highway, about a 10-minute cab ride to the medina, the property is quiet and theoretically conducive to romance -- but the inconsistent service and somewhat soulless decor detract from the amorous ambience. A nondescript brick walkway lined with patchy grass and potted trees leads to the front door, while inside glossy black-and-white tile floors give way to a gray marble front desk with a silvery backdrop and star-shaped hanging lamps. This combination of elegant stone with vaguely garish accessories and colors continues throughout to the Sky Bar, which has vivid violet curtains, and to the Cesar Restaurant, with its red overhead lighting. There are some serene spaces, namely the lobby-bar area with long gray couches and pale-gray marble tables, but overall, the common areas fall short when compared with the guest rooms. 

The property sits on a two-lane highway near the Agdal Gardens, about a 10-minute drive or taxi trip to the medina, and the beautiful Palais de la Bahia palace and gardens. Cinema Megarama is within a five-minute walk of the hotel, and a commercial center with a Carrefour market is within a 10-minute walk. The Marrakech Menara Airport is about a 15-minute drive away.

Guests can stay in Standard Rooms, Suites, Apartments, or Lofts. All have coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, laptop-compatible safes, and mini-fridges. Decor is modern and mostly white with touches of bright color and metallic accents: burnt-orange ottomans, multi-color plush rugs, gray marble floors, silver disco-like lamps, and brown leather chairs all lend a vibe of playful sophistication. Each bed is backed by a lovely, intricately patterned headboard extending up to and across the ceiling. Generally, the rooms feel airy and bright, and some Suites open directly onto the main pool area. Gray marble bathrooms are roomy and have either stand-in rainhead showers or shower/tub combos; lofts have separate showers and bathtubs. 

The resort has two outdoor pools that, while small, have plenty of gray-cushioned sun beds for relaxing. The rooftop pool bar -- Sky Bar -- is somewhat underwhelming, with a white cement deck adorned with simple white umbrellas and gray chairs and sun beds. Food and drinks are expensive, though the hotel does offer a free mojito on arrival. The spa is all-white marble and has a lovely, large indoor pool and hammam -- though guests have found staff here somewhat inexperienced. The Cesar Restaurant serves Moroccan cuisine, though breakfast is often unappealing and there have been complaints of birds and roaches. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
