The Semeli Hotel sits in a fresh white building featuring classic Cycladic and Mediterranean-style architecture with rectangular protrusions, flat roofs, arched walkways, stone wall accents, and plenty of outdoor nooks and crannies. Terraces and walkways are well-maintained with cacti, palm trees, and flowers peeking from under stairs or hanging from trellises. Inside, the hotel reveals modern minimalistic decor in fresh white with the occasional colorful accent and an emphasis on natural light. The spacious lobby features white walls, floors, couches, and glass tables plus inset lighting and fresh cut flowers in vases. Seats might be gathered around a fireplace or a coffee table, and couches are full of pillows, encouraging relaxation. The breakfast area, lobby bar, and lounge run into the lobby and the decor feels unified, making this common area feel particularly spacious. With its proximity to town and its on-site spa and pool, this property is geared toward leisure travelers and couples, though the conference room might attract business guests, too. 

Situated on a charming and fairly quiet road in Mykonos Town, the Semeli Hotel is conveniently located in walking distance (and with views of) both the town center and the sea. A three-minute walk will take guests to the bustling heart of the island where there are a range of restaurants and shops -- a real boon, especially since taxis can be difficult to find in Mykonos. Megali Ammos Beach is also in walking distance from the hotel, just nine minutes away. The windmills, a popular tourist attraction, are a six-minute walk from the hotel, and a children’s playground is right next door. Guests can drive to Mykonos Island National Airport or to Ornos Beach in nine minutes, and the bus is a four-minute walk from the hotel. Transportation to and from the airport is available for an extra charge, or guests can use valet parking, though they should be warned that the road outside the hotel is very narrow.

Rooms are chic and modern with a fresh feel and a minimalistic gray-and-white color scheme that pairs well with translucent, purplish corian and stone wall accents. An inset ceiling has upward facing lighting, and even the smallest rooms have seating areas with cushioned couches, armchairs, and coffee tables as well as small desks and furnished outdoor terraces or balconies. All rooms are air-conditioned and come with flat-screen TVs with international channels, free Wi-Fi, minibars (inset into the walls), safes, and bathrobes and slippers. There's no in-room coffee or tea service. Rooms have double-paned windows, which means they are fairly quiet. Marble bathrooms are in chic white and gray but tend to be compact, with shower/tub combos with deep baths, toilets, and vessel sinks on thin vanities. They're stocked with hairdryers and natural APIVITA individual toiletries. Suites may have separate living areas or private outdoor hot tubs. Guests tend to find the rooms immaculately clean and cozy, though some of the rooms are a bit small for the price.

In addition to the breakfast room, indoor lobby bar and lounge, and outdoor pool bar, the hotel has its own stylish Thioni restaurant that has outdoor seating and offers Mediterranean food for lunch and dinner. Guests find the food here satisfying, but they especially love the free breakfast, which is served until late and includes a large selection of homemade foods, fresh produce, and cooked-to-order eggs.

A small, bright fitness center includes several cardio machines, a weight machine, a bench, and free weights. Private spa rooms offer massage, beauty, and Ayurveda treatments. The hotel also has a steam room (Turkish hammam) and two outdoor pools. While one of the pools is quite small, the other is larger and has a separate hot tub, well-kept and surrounded by lounge chairs and sunbeds. A pool bar offers chair-side service via bells that call to waiters to take orders. Some guests complain that the pool area can get crowded with not enough seating. 

The hotel offers the expected services of an upscale property, including room service, a 24-hour front desk, a concierge, porter service, and daily housekeeping. Laundry, fax, and airport transportation services are available, as is currency exchange. Guests say the staff is very attentive. A conference room can host up to 180 people, with a variety of audio-visual equipment and amenities available for use. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
