With 30 floors, the NH Napoli Ambassador is one of the tallest buildings in the area. That means most rooms have stunning sea and Mount Vesuvius views. However, the hotel doesn’t have curb appeal with its industrial and rather unattractive exterior. Built in 1960, this high-rise is occupied by offices and residences on the lower levels. Hotel rooms are arranged on the 16th floor and up, which eliminates most street noise. 

The lobby has a business-friendly vibe, but furnishings are sometimes worn, which is understandable since the last full renovation was completed in 2007. White and blue leather furniture fills the lobby that features a scenic Italian mural in the lounge and large green planters. Meeting rooms and business services appeal to travelers in town for work. The competitive room prices and central location also attract tourists, especially couples.

The hotel towers over the city with views of the nearby Port of Naples, where there are ferries to the Ischia, Capri, and Cagliari. In the immediate area are offices, residential buildings, a few restaurants, and bars. This is a convenient location for tourists. The Castel Nuovo, Teatro di San Carlo, and shopping on the Via Toledo are five minutes on foot. The Royal Palace of Naples is also in walking distance. For business travelers, the Center Congress Stazione Marittima is 500 meters away. The historic city center -- with the Duomo and Naples National Archaeological Museum -- can be reached in 15 to 20 minutes on foot. It’s 15 minutes by car to the Naples International Airport and 25 minutes by public transportation to the Naples Central Station.

Classic and basic interior designs -- with striped carpeting and light wooden furniture -- pale in comparison to the gorgeous views of the sea, harbor, and Mount Vesuvius that are available in most rooms. Rooms on the 30th floor have the best views. Unfortunately, some rooms have old-fashioned bathrooms and unexciting furnishings. 

There are 230 rooms at this hotel. Single Rooms that are designed for one person. Standard Rooms fit three people and Superior Rooms fit two people. Superior XL Rooms and Junior Suites offer stylish furnishings (in most) with sitting areas, wooden floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and extra perks like bathrobes and slippers, coffeemakers, and trouser presses. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, kettles, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, minibars, safes, and bathrooms with bidets, shower/tub combos and/or showers, and hairdryers. Cribs and rollaway beds can be requested.

The NH Napoli Ambassador is geared toward business travelers, offering eight meeting rooms -- two of which have natural light -- that can fit between 10 to 200 people. Business services and laptop rentals are also available. On the 16th floor is a small gym inadequately equipped for the building with only a few cardio machines. The classically decorated restaurant, La Loggetta, is on the first floor, serving a standard free breakfast buffet and dinner service, including the Italian specialty -- limoncello. The NH Ambassador Bar -- with a nice wine list -- is also on the first floor. There aren’t many upscale perks here, but the 24-hour front desk does provides the standard luggage storage, free newspapers, safety deposit box, and currency exchange. Guests with cars also has access to on-site parking, for a fee.
