Although the Hampton's red-brick-and-beige-stucco exterior does not inspire, the lobby is smart and modern, with a gray-and-brown color scheme plus free coffee or tea and newspapers for guests to peruse while sitting in the stylish armchairs. More seating is available in the large and bright breakfast room, which is far nicer than most chain hotels (and non-chain hotels) in the area and has a lounge-like vibe. Attractive gray carpets with an oversized flower pattern are set with sofas and contemporary wingback chairs, while leopard print and polka dot accent pillows are tossed across a wide array of seating throughout. The hotel's downtown location draws families, groups, and business travelers.

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Nashville, top attractions, including the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Johnny Cash Museum, and the Ryman Auditorium, are within a five-minute walk. It’s also a five-minute walk to Lower Broadway, a bustling street brimming with restaurants, honky-tonk bars, and cowboy-couture shops. The Bridgestone Arena, home of the Nashville Predators NHL team and host to many big-name performers, is also within a five-minute walk. The hotel offers easy access to the footbridge that crosses the Cumberland River to LP Field, where the Tennessee Titans play. Nashville International Airport is about a 15-minute drive away. 

The 154 guest rooms here have a simple, suburban style, with chunky green armchairs in some rooms and teal-and-brown printed drapes. Dark striped carpets run through the rooms and dark wood furniture has simple lines. Rooms are spacious and have oversized padded headboards that add a touch of class to otherwise unremarkably designed and somewhat dark rooms. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi, 42-inch flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, mini-fridges, microwaves, safes, irons and ironing boards, and coffeemakers. Desks have ergonomic desk chairs and beds are made with white linens. Suites are much larger, and some include big living areas and kitchenettes. Some Standard Rooms have only showers, but others have a baths with shower/tub combos, and some have whirlpool baths. Bathrooms are stocked with Neutrogena toiletries.

On-site features include a fitness center with a range of modern cardio- and weight-training equipment.
