Best Western Premier Hotel Roosevelt

The Roosevelt has a look that’s colorful, stylish, and modern. Visitors enter the hotel to a small lobby done largely in white and featuring ornamental stone walls, a large orange urn, a striped orange sofa, chocolate brown armchairs, paintings, sculptures, and flat-screen TVs. Guests tend to gather here and in the bright and cheery breakfast room, with orange walls and contemporary furniture. Rooms have a similar look, with bold colors and a modern aesthetic. Because of its location, the property attracts both tourists and business travelers alike.

Best Western Roosevelt is located on the Rue du Marechal Joffre, surrounded by restaurants, bars, and designer stores like Armani, Louis Vuitton, and Hermes. It's an excellent central location, although the area can get a little noisy because of the street traffic, especially during the summer. Massena tram station is a five-minute walk east while Gare de Nice Ville train station is a five-minute drive or 10-minute walk north of the hotel. The Promenade des Anglais, Old Town Nice, a bicycle path, and the beach are all a short stroll south. Old Town offers a maze of narrow streets with public squares, shops, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, the Cours Saleya flower market, and Baroque churches. For business travelers, the Acropolis Palais des Congres convention center is a five-minute drive northeast of the hotel while Nice Cote d'Azur Airport is a 12-minute drive southwest. 

The Roosevelt's 49 guest rooms are on four floors, accessible by stairway and elevator. Like at many older European hotels, the elevator is small and slow, so it may entail a long wait to get to the rooms. The 100% non-smoking units are contemporary, neat, and clean, featuring vibrant hues like red, teal, fuchsia, and chocolate brown. All rooms come with hairdryers, in-room safes, tea/coffeemakers, bottled water, mini-fridges, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs with international satellite channels. Most bathrooms are shower only. Standard rooms can be quite small and mattresses aren’t particularly high-quality. Limited closet space is another issue and some spaces need refurbishment, particularly to address minor damp smells and mold issues. Rooms on lower levels facing the street may experience noise as well.

As a small city hotel, the Best Western Roosevelt has few on-site facilities, with no swimming pool, fitness center, sauna, bar, or restaurant. The hotel's highlight amenity is its ample breakfast buffet, with a fee for guests 12 and over. The spread features hard-boiled eggs, hot sausages, cold cuts, cheeses, baguettes, hot pancakes, madeleine cakes, tarts, fruit salad, yogurt, coffee, juice, and more. Free pastries and hot drinks are served in the lobby in the afternoon. 

The Roosevelt also has a 24-hour front desk, and the multilingual staff can help plan excursions and offer tour advice. A Mac computer is available in the lobby with a printer and free Internet access, and the front desk can perform business services such as photocopying and faxing. The hotel also provides local and international newspapers, board games and toys, nearby public parking (for a fee), and town car service (for a fee) to the airport. Business travelers also have access to a small, well-equipped meeting room.
