The Navona Theatre Hotel is situated on a cobblestone alleyway and housed in a two-floor, 17th-century terra-cotta building that was, as the hotel's name suggests, once a theater. Despite its historic character, the interiors are decidedly modern. The well-designed lobby is done in black and white, with globe pendant lighting, chairs with a hint of midcentury design, and a tile floor in a distinctive M.C. Escher-style geometric pattern. Guests gather here to chitchat, read magazines, and to check their phones, and another popular spot to hangout on-site is the equally attractive breakfast room. It also has a black-and-white backdrop, with chairs in striking yellow and portraits of popes donning red robes accenting walls. Couples looking for high design without the high rates tend to be the hotel's main clientele. 

The hotel has an excellent location in Centro Storico, a charming and romantic area with cobblestone streets, historic buildings, cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops. Piazza Navona and Sant'Agnese in Agone are a two-minute walk, as is the C.so Vittorio Emanuele/Navona bus stop for access to other parts of the city. 

The Pantheon, Piazza Campo de' Fiori, and the 16th-century Church of San Luigi dei Francesi, which features paintings by Caravaggio, can all be reached within seven minutes on foot. Major attractions like the Colosseum, Vatican City/St. Peter’s Basilica, Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain are all within 10 to 15 minutes by bus. 

The hotel is 15 minutes by taxi or a little more than 15 minutes by bus from Termini Station. Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is 30 minutes to an hour by car (depending on traffic conditions) or a little more than an hour using public transit.

Expect designer-inspired furniture, trendy lighting, beds accented with yellow throw pillows, and retro Italian-themed wall posters adding a splash of red to complete the look. Amenities are a plus, as all rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, minibars, electric kettles for instant coffee and tea, and free Wi-Fi, and suites add seating areas. Sleek bathrooms are also well-outfitted, with spacious walk-in rainfall showers, bidets, and circular basin sinks, plus hairdryers and toiletries. Standard rooms range from 161 to 237 square feet (15 to 22 square meters), while the suites are a little roomier at 215 to 269 square feet (20 to 25 square meters). 

Features are slim at the Navona Theatre Hotel. There's no full-service restaurant or wellness facilities, but the hotel serves a quality hot breakfast buffet for an extra charge.
