The property has a water park with multiple slides and a wave pool, and guests can drink and dine at three restaurants and three bars -- including one that's open 24 hours. The spa, spacious gym, and discotheque appeal to younger couples and vacationing friends. Guest rooms are bright and modern with balconies or terraces; Family rooms are available. However, it’s a long trek, or a short shuttle ride, to the sands.

As expected of this luxury brand, the 136-room Four Seasons Resort has all the hallmarks of a five-pearl hotel -- plentiful quality dining, lovely swimming pools, and beautiful sea views. Spacious, elegant rooms all have private outdoor balconies or terraces, most with lovely sea views, and lots of tech amenities can be rented for a fee, such as iPads and game consoles. The private beach, though a bit small, offers excellent diving and snorkeling opportunities as well as two yachts available for guests' use. There are also a spa, tennis center, and a kids' club.

The 376-room Coral Sea Waterworld Resort is an upscale, all-inclusive vacation complex located in the Nabq Bay area of Sharm El Sheikh. The impressive water park is the main event, though there are plenty of other facilities, including pools, sports, restaurants, and activities, to keep busy. While rooms are generally clean and modern, some of the resort looks dated and quality of food and entertainment can be inconsistent. Overall, this is one of the best upscale kid-friendly options for the price.

Families are well-catered to with a kids' club and live entertainment, while the spa with whirlpool tubs, and pools lined with cushioned beds help everyone relax. Guest rooms are clean and stylish with flat-screen TVs and air-conditioning, and many have balconies with sea views. However, the free Wi-Fi in public areas can be slow, and the pool decks can be noisy and crowded.
