Park Avenue is a smart, modern hotel with a functional style. There's no lobby to speak of -- it's just a front desk where guests check-in and move along -- but there are two outdoor seating areas with sofas. Even so, this isn't a destination hotel with a social scene, and most guests are only here for a night or two. There's a modern, leafy theme that runs throughout the decor, and the colors are largely monotone, with occasional flashes of red and rusts. It's a typical business hotel, and guests reflect that, particularly since it's one of the closest options to the Singapore Expo Center -- though the proximity to the airport makes it a fine option for those on a layover, too. 

The Park Avenue Changi Hotel is located in Singapore's Changi Business Park, in the city's east end and close to the airport. The area is mostly made up of corporations, and the Singapore Expo Center is essentially across the street. There's also a convenience store next door, and Changi City Point Mall, which has shops and eateries, is a five-minute walk from the hotel. Expo Metro station is also a five-minute walk from the hotel and has a direct route to the airport, with a transit time of about 25 minutes. Connections downtown, for shopping on Orchard Road or attractions like Gardens by the Bay, take about an hour. It's 90 minutes to Sentosa Island on the train, or a 20-minute drive (depending on traffic).  

Rooms have a pleasant, modern style that carries over from the rest of the hotel -- they're smart and monochrome, with rust- and orange-hued accents. High-tech features include flat-screen TVs with real-time flight information for Changi Airport, plus personal smartphones with internet access and maps, and iPod docking stations. Other features include air-conditioning, electric kettles with coffee/tea, minibars, safes, irons, and free Wi-Fi. Executive Deluxe Rooms add useful living areas with sofas, second TVs, dining tables for two, and kitchenettes with stovetops, microwaves, sinks, mini-fridges, toasters, coffee machines, tableware. and washing machines. Two-Bedroom Suites have larger living spaces. Bathrooms are uniform across all categories, and are well-finished with pale walls, some mosaic tiling, and black Corian countertops. All feature small shower/tub combos, toiletries, and hairdryers. Two-Bedroom Suites have an additional full bathroom. 

Features are pretty slim at the Park Avenue Hotel. It has a rooftop lap pool that's compact, but a nice retreat, and there are a few sun loungers beside the water. The top floor also houses a gym, with a decent selection of equipment including cardio and weight machines plus free weights and a TV. There's no restaurant on-site, but guests booking room rates with breakfast included are sent next door to Yum Cha restaurant, where both local and Western options are available. The hotel has serviced offices on-site, plus meeting rooms, an underground parking lot, and a free shuttle to local business centers. Personal services include laundry and dry-cleaning, plus a self-service laundromat. There's free Wi-Fi throughout, and free smartphones with pre-loaded maps are a nice touch.
