Rosewood Little Dix Bay
Lee Road

The Rosewood Little Dix Bay is a luxury property located just north of Spanish Town. The jungle-meets-ocean setting makes it one of the most romantic spots on this sparsely populated island, and the thick tropical grounds allow for utmost tranquility and relaxation. The hotel is directly on a beautiful sandy beach, and most units are just a couple dozen yards from the water. Rooms have island-inspired decor with elegant wood furnishings, exposed stone walls, and wooden beams, but some may find the level of luxury to be underwhelming for the price. Beach Houses and Villas are a notch or two more luxurious, with wonderful extras that include private pools, full kitchens, flat-screen TVs in every room, Wii game consoles, and free use of golf carts to move around the property. The acclaimed spa with gorgeous views, the dozens of activities available, and the long list of exceptional freebies make this hotel a great high-end pick. But food is pretty mediocre and outrageously expensive, and service is subpar for the brand.

Surfsong Villa Resort
Well Bay

This hotel was impacted by Hurricane Irma in September 2017 and is currently closed. We will update our review as soon as we have more information. Surfsong Villa Resort is somewhat of a hidden gem on Tortola. The upscale seven-room property is minutes from the airport, yet most people driving by probably don’t even realize it’s there. Completely surrounded by palm trees and tropical gardens, Surfsong feels like a private estate, with individual villas dotting the expansive property. Surfsong doesn’t have typical hotel amenities like a pool, spa, or fitness center, but the resort’s incredible tranquility draws travelers seeking seclusion. Each of Surfsong’s seven villas is exquisitely curated with custom wood furniture, gorgeous slate floors, and thoughtful amenities like Nespresso machines and beach bags. A real highlight here is the impressive on-site culinary team, who can prepare custom menus for guests during their stay. Note that children under the age of eight are not allowed on property. Travelers seeking a more family-friendly option might prefer Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina which has more amenities and comparable rooms, but doesn’t feel as exclusive.

Frenchmans
Frenchman's Cay

Frenchmans was significantly impacted by Hurricane Irma in September 2017 and is currently closed for repairs. We will update our review as soon as we have more information. Frenchmans offers some of Tortola's most well-liked four-pearl accommodations right on a stunning, secluded peninsula overlooking the Caribbean. Although it’s tiny, every feature -- including the soft sand beach with a private lagoon, waterfront pool, and lovely, open-air restaurant -- is exceptional. Each of the nine rooms is a large one- or two-bedroom villa with an extensive list of amenities including a full kitchen, separate living and dining areas, upscale bathrooms, and furnished balconies with stunning ocean views. Although there are few points of interest nearby, the West End Ferry Terminal and a popular marina are less than five minutes away by car. Sugar Mill Hotel is a similarly priced, three-and-a-half-pearl alternative situated on the site of a four-hundred-year-old sugar plantation, though it lacks stand-alone villas.
