There's little to impress from the outside of this modern, family-run property -- the frontage is contemporary but looks more conference center than hotel. Entering the spacious lobby, however, and the atmosphere is considerably brighter with floral bouquets, plush velvety furnishings, and a trio of mini chandeliers illuminating the reception area. The colorful and contemporary vibe continues into the corridors, with patterned carpeting and modern art. The atmosphere is informal and friendly, and clientele tend towards business travelers with meetings in the area or those attending an event or conference at the hotel.

The Green Isle Hotel is located close to Newlands Cross, overlooking the main Dublin to Cork/Limerick N7 road, and about seven miles from the Irish capital. Being located on the N7, the hotel is convenient for those traveling in and out of Dublin, and around the country. The airport is about 20 minutes' drive away and the Dublin city center is about 15 minutes by car.

The hotel has 270 rooms, all of which are decorated in a minimal, contemporary style with modern light wood furnishings and patterned fabrics. In-room amenities are adequate, and include cable TV, tea and coffee facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have granite tops and basic toiletries. Balconies and air-conditioning are available on request. Some rooms facing the road suffer from traffic noise.

All guests have free use of the inspiration Leisure Centre with gym, indoor heated swimming pool, steam room, massage pool, and separate kids' pool. Buffet breakfast is served each morning, while the Sorrel's Bistro offers food and wine for evening meals. A wide range of conference and event facilities is on offer, and parking and Wi-Fi is free of charge for guests.
