The palm tree-lined entrance leads into a bright and airy lobby with a long white reception desk, wicker sofa seating, tall plants in wicker baskets, and large floor-to-ceiling windows. The u-shaped building surrounds a central area resembling a water park with numerous swimming pools, lazy river, seating areas, green lawns, and several scattered palm trees. While the property is large, guests often complain that it gets overcrowded during the summer months, making it difficult to find a spot by the pool or on the beach in front of the hotel (with common disregard of the no saving seats rule). The condo-style rooms draw mostly leisure travelers, particularly families and larger groups. 

Waterscape Condominiums has a central beachfront location just off a main road in Fort Walton Beach, with direct access to the beach in front of the hotel. The immediate area is mostly other condominiums and hotels, with a handful of shops, restaurants, and nightlife spots within walking distance. The Emerald Coast Convention Center is a six-minute walk from the property. The Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park is an 11-minute walk. Destin, which has a much quieter beach, is 10 minutes by car. It's an 11-minute drive to Big Kahuna’s Water Park and 20-minute drive to the Emerald Bay Golf Club. For those looking to shop, Silver Sands Premium Outlets is a 25-minute drive from the property. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel. Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport is an 18-minute drive.

Each of the 339 condos at Waterscape Condominiums is individually owned, meaning the style and decor varies between each unit. While most units feature bright and modern interiors, the complex is quite old so expect a few units to be slightly dated, though still well-maintained. All units feature large floor-to-ceiling windows opening out onto a furnished balcony -- only a few units have sea views, the others overlook either the central swimming pool area or parking lot. There are various sized condos, ranging from four to 10 guests. Each unit features air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi, and fully-equipped kitchenettes with an oven, hot top, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, sink, coffeemaker, and cookware. Bathrooms vary from shower/tub combos to walk-in showers and tubs. Hairdryers and toiletries are provided. The bigger units feature two bathrooms.

Waterscape Condominiums is buzzing during the summer months, with ample outside features encouraging guests to enjoy the sunny Florida weather. There are four outdoor swimming pools, including the relaxed Cabana Spa pool, a kids' pool with fountains, and upper and lower swimming pools. There's also a lazy river and two outdoor hot tubs. The central area of the property features several seating areas and sun loungers (note that these fill up quickly in the summer months), children's playground, and barbecue facilities. There's a handicapped accessible boardwalk leading to the beach in front of the hotel, where guests will find parasol and chair rentals. The 24-hour fitness center includes a selection of modern LifeFitness cardio and weight-training equipment. There's a seasonal kids' club program available during the day, as well as a year-round arcade room. While there's no full on-site restaurant, Fudpuckers Tiki Bar is open during the summer months for drinks and light snacks by the pool. On-site parking and Wi-Fi throughout the property are free.
