Hier a été une grande journée dans le monde gastronomique new-yorkais, puisque Michelin a publié ses notes de restaurant pour 2011. Le jour n'arrive qu'une fois par an, avec tout le monde à l'affût pour voir quels restaurants vont perdre leurs étoiles, lesquels ceux seront les nouveaux venus sur la liste.

Comme nous l'avons déjà dit, certains des meilleurs restaurants de New York se trouvent à l'intérieur des hôtels. Nous avons donc pensé que nous vous tiendrions au courant de l'évolution de leur nouvelle cote Michelin.

La plus grande nouvelle pour nous est que The Breslin , le restaurant de April Bloomfield et Ken Friedman, qui a ouvert ses portes à l' Ace Hotel plus tôt cette année, a gagné une étoile Michelin très honorable et bien méritée. Le joint a ouvert à une fanfare de bonne presse et beaucoup d'éloges pour des plats comme le pied de cochon pour 2 (45 $), sweetbreats croustillants avec des lentilles au cari (16 $), et des arachides frites dans du gras de porc (6 $). Et le décor du bar-restaurant hodgepodge du restaurant complète froidement l'hôtel branché et éclectique auquel il est attaché.

Autre que The Breslin, les étoiles Michelin données aux restaurants de l'hôtel à New York sont restés les mêmes. Voici un rapide aperçu des hôtels qui offrent des restaurants étoilés:

En plus des étoiles prestigieuses et très recherchées, Michelin décerne également des prix Bib Gourmand aux restaurants qui sont «les favoris des inspecteurs pour un bon rapport qualité-prix». Cette année, la liste comprend 95 restaurants, tous abordables et extrêmement savoureux. L'un des nouveaux venus sur cette liste cette année est l' Asia de Cuba , à l' hôtel Morgans . La cuisine asiatique-rencontre-latine et l'ambiance branchée ont été très populaires à New York depuis un certain temps, et cette année l'Asie de Cuba a été ajoutée à la liste du Bib Gourmand pour la première fois. Essayez le rôti de porc au rhum et au miel (35 $) ou le canard rôti hoisin tropical (39 $), tous deux conçus, comme tous les plats du menu, à partager en famille.
