One of many tall buildings in the area, the high-rise Harbour Plaza North Point's glass-and-steel entryway gives way to a large lobby with marble floors, huge windows, and a floor-to-ceiling water feature. Two reception desks have curved wooden backdrop walls in rich, warm tones, while clusters of plush couches and armchairs provide plenty of seating islands amid the vast marble space. The cozy Point Lobby Lounge bar, with its signature cocktails, hosts live music and shows major sporting events, and there are several other dining destinations within the hotel, though all have a fairly dated style. Guests here are predominantly business travelers, though families and couples pass through as well. 

Outside of the central downtown area, Harbour Plaza North Point isn't within walking distance of many major sights, though guests can walk to the Kowloon Bay waterfront and the North Point Ferry Pier. Bus stops line busy King's Road outside the hotel, and the MTR Quarry Bay station is a five-minute walk away, while the MTR North Point Station is within a 12-minute walk. Major sights, such as the Temple Street Night Market, the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower, and Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple are about 35 minutes away on public transportation. Hong Kong International Airport is about a 50-minute drive, or an hour and 12 minutes by Airport Express and metro.

Many of the Harbour Plaza North Point's 669 rooms have full or partial views of Kowloon Bay, while others have views of the city or the hills to the south. Decor, however, is dated, with plain wood furnishings, textured gray and brown carpets, and deep red fabrics with brown accents throughout all room categories. Superior Rooms, which are this hotel's standard rooms, have desks and large night stands with reading lights, along with flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, minibars, electric tea kettles, and laptop safes, but Wi-Fi comes with an extra fee. Deluxe Rooms and Studios, at 330 square feet (about 101 square meters), are large for Hong Kong, while the Suites add full kitchens with dining rooms. Bathrooms have walk-in showers with adjustable handheld showerheads, granite countertops, hairdryers, and toiletries.

At 82 feet (or 25 meters), the seasonal outdoor pool is long enough for lap swimming and is set amid a sundeck with bay views. The modern fitness center, with treadmills, cardio bikes, and weight-training machines, also includes a sauna and a tanning-bed room. A 24-hour business center has computer stations and printers, and 12 flexible meeting rooms. For dining, Greens Cafe provides all-day service with an international buffet, and Hoi Yat Heen Chinese Restaurant serves dim sum and a wide range of regional Chinese cuisine in a more formal atmosphere. A small cafe on the first floor serves deli sandwiches, and The Point Lobby Lounge bar serves snacks and has regular live entertainment. Breakfast is not included in room rates. 24-hour room service is available and the hotel can provide airport transfers for a fee, though the hotel runs a free area shuttle. There are fees for Wi-Fi in guest rooms.
