Campanile Krakow

The Campanile Krakow is geared toward both business and leisure travelers looking for affordable rates in the historic center, though the hotel mostly draws couples. It's set in high-rise building on the corner of a leafy street, with contemporary decor throughout that's pleasant enough but unremarkable. Still, the lobby is inviting, with two seating areas defined by red carpeting that have deep couches and cushioned stools set around low tables. There's also an adjoining lounge space with a bookcase, which makes for a cozy spot to sip cocktails and espresso drinks from the lobby bar.

The hotel is centrally located in Krakow's historic Old Town. Main Market Square is a seven-minute walk away, with numerous cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, and museums surrounding it (and along the way there). St. Mary’s Basilica is a five-minute walk, and it's about 15 minutes on foot to Wawel Royal Castle. The large Galeria Krakowski shopping mall is a nine-minute walk from the hotel, and driving to Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory takes roughly 12 minutes. Public transportation is nearby, as it's only a seven-minute walk to Dworzec Glowny, the main railway station. From there, it's a 48-minute bus ride to John Paul II Krakow-Balice International Airport, which is otherwise a 25-minute drive.

The hotel has 106 guest rooms that have a simple, contemporary look, with brown carpeting, textured cream walls, and bright green accents. All are air-conditioned and roughly 215 square feet, with either double beds or two twin beds that have laminate headboards and reading lamps. Walls are bare except for large oval dome lights, and seating areas have either a cushioned bench or a single brown armchair. Articulated work lamps are set on white desks, which are next to neon green built-in wardrobes and IKEA-style stools. Free Wi-Fi comes standard along with wall-mounted flat-screen TVs and electric kettles, but there are no mini-fridges. The bathrooms have tiled shower/tub combos with frosted glass doors as opposed to curtains, and there are heated towel racks, toiletries, and hairdryers. Some units have park views with windows that open. Light sleepers should be aware that traffic can be heard in some street-facing rooms.   

Top features at this hotel can be found in the lobby, where there's bar that serves cocktails and espresso drinks and a cozy lounge with a bookcase. Another highlight is the casual buffet restaurant, with colorful tables along street-facing windows. Breakfast (not included) consists of a continental spread of cheese, ham, bread, pastries, and fruit. The conference center has four meeting rooms and can host up to 120 people, and there's a 24-hour internet corner with a kiosk that has a computer and a printer, but the hotel lacks a fitness center. It does have an underground garage (which isn't commonly found in the city center) though parking costs extra. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
