This budget hotel, housed in a 10-story building on the outskirts of downtown Lisbon, stays busy hosting large tour groups and budget-conscious business travelers. The lobby has contemporary decor, with plush furniture, modern table lamps, and colorful art on walls, and there's a comfortable full-service bar. But guests mainly gather in the large dining room, which has well-maintained parquet floors and tables draped with white tablecloths. It often gets crowded during peak breakfast hours, before guests take off to see the sights or attend meetings.   

The hotel is centrally located in the relatively quiet Campo Pequeno neighborhood, but it takes about 20 minutes by car or using public transportation to reach downtown Lisbon and the city's top attractions. There are a few restaurants near the Campo Pequeno metro stop, about a four-minute walk from the hotel, and the historic Campo Pequeno bullring and its museum are about six minutes away on foot. For sightseeing visitors who want to ride through some of Lisbon's charming neighborhoods, Tram 28 offers a quaint and low-cost adventure. The stop is 12 minutes away by car, or a 20-minute public transit ride. St. George's Castle, which dates back to the Roman era, is about 15 minutes away by car, or 35 minutes using public transportation. Lisbon International Airport is approximately a 10-minute drive, or about a 20-minute ride taking public transit.

Guest rooms are clean and pleasant, but decor is a bit dated, wallpaper panels are peeling, and there are old-style tube TVs. On the plus side, units are spacious and well-maintained, and all have AC, fairly new hardwood floors, upholstered chairs, dressers, small closets with shelf space, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are basic, but they're outfitted with pedestal sinks, shower/tub combos with handheld showerheads, hairdryers, and toiletries. Rooms that face the street have nicer views of the city, but are also subject to more noise from traffic than units in the back of the hotel. Some guests have noted that walls are thin, and that they can hear neighbors rather easily. 

Drinking and dining features are a highlight at this hotel. There's a spacious breakfast room with a generous hot buffet for a fee, and a lobby lounge with a full bar that's open daily. The hotel hosts a lot of tour groups and some business functions, and there are five meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 185 people.
