Hotel Riu Palace Tikida Agadir

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The upscale Hotel Riu Palace Tikida Agadir has the relaxed atmosphere of a resort on the water. It has a private section of beach, two pools, a kids' club, and theater offering live entertainment. It’s one of Agadir's more expensive hotels, but its all-inclusive rates cover almost everything, including around-the-clock quality food and alcoholic beverages. The 444 rooms, which include Junior Suites and Suites, are large and modern, and all have private balconies or patios that overlook the garden grounds or the Atlantic Ocean. There are less-expensive resorts along this strip of coastline, but not many can match the Riu Palace Tikida in amenities.

2

Robinson Club Agadir

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

This three-and-a-half-pearl, 343-room resort offers a picturesque beachfront location and relaxed atmosphere. Guests are predominantly German, though staff speak good English. Moroccan decor is seen throughout, and spacious guest rooms feature air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and furnished balconies with lovely sea or mountain views -- though Wi-Fi and minibars are noticeably lacking. The hotel offers family-friendly amenities, with a kids' club, two outdoor pools, and direct beach access. There are plenty of sports on-site, such as tennis and beach volleyball, plus a modern fitness center and full-service spa. The all-inclusive rates cover almost everything, with three quality restaurants offering Moroccan a la carte cuisine and buffet dining. Travelers looking for a similar property with in-room Wi-Fi should consider the nearby Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort instead.

Paradis Plage Surf Yoga & Spa Resort

Imi Ouaddar, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The four-pearl Paradis Plage stands out from other beachfront resorts with its surf school and yoga studio, but also because of its secluded location a 35-minute drive outside of town. The resort attracts travelers looking to be far from the tourist trappings of Agadir, while also having access to amenities such as a huge private beach and outdoor garden with sunbeds and a hot tub. The 105 large rooms have great balconies and most have kitchenettes, though not all have ocean views. A kids' club, full spa, and waterfront private-dining tent serving Moroccan cuisine provide extra reasons not to take the free shuttle into town each day. Travelers who want similar features from a hotel near the center of town could try the Hotel Riu Palace Tikida Agadir.

4

Hôtel Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort is a 273-room upscale property with a great spot along the beach promenade, though it's somewhat far from dining and shopping in the city center. Still, the stunning resort makes the most of its traditional architecture with beautiful open-air lounges and a sprawling outdoor pool surrounded by daybeds and hammocks. Rooms have velvet accents, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges, and some have pool views. The nightclub and sophisticated restaurants make the hotel better geared toward couples than families. Some guests may expect more updated room decor and amenities at a hotel of this caliber -- those travelers should check out the Sofitel Agadir Thalassa Sea & Spa next door.

Hotel Riu Tikida Dunas

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The four-pearl ClubHotel Riu Tikida Dunas is one of Agadir's more upscale all-inclusive resorts, and family-friendly facilities are extensive alongside private beach offerings. The 406 neutral-tone rooms are contemporary and air-conditioned, outfitted with sofa beds, mini-fridges, and furnished outdoor spaces. Vast pools have shallow areas for kids, and are accompanied by lounger-equipped terraces. Several bars and restaurants are well-reviewed, plus there are a spa, sports facilities, and and daytime and evening animation -- the latter of which is reportedly mediocre. This property is pricier than the majority of all-inclusive competitors, so for a more budget-friendly vacation, consider the Labranda Amadil Beach.

6

Le Medina Essaouira Hotel Thalassa Sea & Spa – MGallery by Sofitel-

Essaouira, Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz Region, Morocco

The 117-room Le Medina Essaouira Hotel Thalassa Sea & Spa is an upper-mid-range property with a large pool and a private beach about 10 minutes' walk from the old city. The hotel is part of the MGallery Collection, which emphasizes services for women, who get 50 percent off at the spa every Monday. Guests can also lounge in the sun around the massive wood pool deck, or at the beach on private beds with canopies. Guest rooms include balconies, and decor is done with handcrafted Moroccan furniture. With three restaurants and two bars, the hotel offers plenty of choices for eating and drinking. Service in the breakfast room can be disappointing, and rooms facing the sea get noisy. Guests willing to stay farther outside the city could try Villa Gonatouki, which is about the same price.

7

Royal Mirage Agadir Hotel

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The Royal Mirage Agadir is a 177-room three-and-a-half pearl hotel conveniently located for Agadir Beach. This family-friendly, all-inclusive property has smart, classic rooms with attractive views -- but some decor is on the dated side, especially in bathrooms and public areas. Facilities include two lovely pools, a large gym, spa with steam room, and tennis courts and kids’ clubs. The restaurant’s international buffets are decent but can get repetitive; breakfast is available until late. There’s a separate bar, but only a limited drinks selection and the evening entertainment is popular. Drawbacks include charges for internet outside the lobby, no in-room Wi-Fi, and charges for parking. The nearby and similarly priced Kenzi Europa offers free Wi-Fi throughout.

8

Club Val d’Anfa Hotel

Casablanca, Grand Casablanca Region, Morocco

Located 50 yards from the beach and Atlantic Ocean, Club Val d'Anfa Hotel is situated in the vibrant La Corniche area of Casablanca, with its restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. While not a truly upscale property like Casablanca's Sofitel or Hyatt Regency, this upper-middle-range hotel has a distinctive Moroccan character throughout its interiors. Housed in two buildings, the 137 rooms feature flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi, and some rooms have ocean views. An outdoor freeform pool, massage treatments (for a fee), a sauna, Turkish steam rooms, several restaurants, and a nightclub with belly dancing add a resort vibe here, though Wi-Fi can be spotty, the breakfast buffet isn't free, and some rooms could use renovating.

9

Royal Decameron Tafoukt Beach Hotel

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The Royal Decameron Tafoukt Beach Hotel is an upper-middle-range property, well-located on Agadir Beach's lively promenade. Minimalist interiors are classy, and many guests rave about the action-packed entertainment, though it typically is in French. All-inclusive rates include sumptuous buffets, an open bar, hookah lounge, and nightclub -- rooms above the latter suffer from noise. An outdoor pool, private beach, kids' club, and bright gym round out the features. The 241 rooms are a bit plain but contemporary, and come with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and private balconies, many of which overlook the ocean. Travelers seeking a less activity-minded stay may prefer the beachfront LTI Agadir Beach Club.

10

Hôtel Sofitel Agadir Thalassa Sea & Spa

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

This 173-room upscale hotel has a quiet beachfront location just south of Agadir's promenade. Contemporary design includes quirky modern furnishings, and all rooms feature free Wi-Fi, minibars, and furnished balconies, some with ocean-facing views. However, many rooms are quite compact. There are two outdoor pools surrounded by cozy cabanas, a private beach with water sports, plus a small fitness center, and outdoor tennis court. The thalassotherapy spa offers massage treatments and a hot tub, but the hammam costs extra. For dining, there are three restaurants serving international cuisines, plus healthy options and themed meals. Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet costs extra and is expensive. Travelers looking for a more laid-back vibe should try the Sofitel Agadir Royal Bar Resort next door, which adds a nightclub and live music.

Atlas Amadil Beach Aqua Sun

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The 328-room Amadil Beach is a large, family-friendly hotel with a three-and-a-half-pearl rating and attractive all-inclusive packages. Its location opposite Agadir Beach is handy for accessing the hotel's private beach section, and on-site facilities include multiple pools, waterslides, adult and kids' entertainment, and both a la carte and buffet restaurants. Unfortunately, guests generally find food and evening entertainment mediocre. Additionally, a lovely spa has an indoor pool, Turkish bath, and massage rooms. Contemporary rooms are bright, albeit a bit bland, and outfitted with furnished balconies, flat-screen TVs, and minibars. Note that in-room safes require a fee, and there are no kettles provided. It's worth considering the similar LTI Agadir Beach Club, which has slightly lower rates.

12

Iberostar Founty Beach

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The Iberostar Founty Beach is an upscale beachfront resort with well-tended grounds and a large outdoor pool complex. The 470 rooms are spacious and mostly bland, though they do have balconies and some sea views. There are extra charges for safes and deposits required for pool towels. All rates include a free breakfast buffet, and there are half-board and all-inclusive packages for the restaurants and bars. Facilities include a small gym, spa with an indoor pool, sauna, three kids’ clubs, and two tennis courts, plus live entertainment. Parking is free, but the free Wi-Fi can be patchy in rooms, and some rooms are far from facilities. The similarly priced Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort has more modern rooms and offers water sports.

13

Royal Atlas & Spa

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The Royal Atlas is a four-pearl hotel on a scenic public beach, 20 minutes on foot from the center of Agadir. With a business center and meeting rooms for corporate travelers, plus several pools, a spa, live entertainment shows, and sunbeds for vacationing visitors, the property is suitable for all kinds of guests. The 338 modern rooms are clean and come with balconies. However, sea views aren’t always as advertised, and rooms lack coffee- and tea-making facilities. While there’s a full range of amenities here, the quality is hit-or-miss, and many come with strict time limits and extra fees, even with all-inclusive bookings. The Sofitel Agadir Thalassa Sea & Spa has better all-inclusive value, but smaller rooms.

14

Hotel Agadir Beach Club

Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa Region, Morocco

The LTI Agadir Beach Club is an upper-middle-range property with its own stretch of private beach. Old-fashioned decor throughout is dated and in need of a refresh, although Moorish touches provide some traditional charm. The 438 rooms are decently sized, and come with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and furnished outdoor spaces. Upgraded rooms have living areas, and some overlook the sea. Packages vary from bed-and-breakfast to all-inclusive, and guests have access to an outdoor pool, tennis courts, and spa. Multiple restaurants offer varied dining, and the poolside buffet serves international cuisine. The bar's evening entertainment offers alternatives to daytime activities, but note, some amenities are at a fee. Smoking is allowed inside, which may be a pro for some. The beachfront Royal Atlas is more modern and has three outdoor pools.

Atlas Essaouira & Spa

Essaouira, Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz Region, Morocco

The Atlas Essaouira & Spa is an upscale property across the street from the beach and a 20-minute walk to the tourist-friendly old city. A modern, sophisticated choice for travelers seeking a mix of nature and culture, the property offers a large outdoor pool, three international restaurants, and a full-service spa with hammam. The 156 guest rooms are chic and serene, with minibars and safes, while suites with ocean-view balconies are also available. The well-kept grounds, and vast common areas decorated tastefully with Moroccan touches for a stylish scene. But front-desk service can be a bit frosty, the housekeeping and buffet breakfast inconsistent, and some rooms slightly worn. Wi-Fi is free and spotty throughout. Guests seeking a homier vibe, with close proximity to the beach, could try the Riad Zahra Mogador about a half-mile south.
