Pops of bright colors includes teal, yellow, aqua, and orange on upholstered furniture and carpet, but some of the loud hues and patterns may feel like overkill to some. A double-sided gas fireplace framed by dark wood and natural stone separates the entrance and registration areas from the breakfast room. With an inviting black granite hearth, the fireplace entices guests to relax and warm up on chilly days. The breakfast area gets quite busy at peak times, but some outside tables help ease the crowds in warm weather.  Nearby golf courses and attractive amenities draw a diverse mix of guests to this Homewood Suites outpost.

This Homewood Suites is less than five minutes away from Interstate 10 and within a brief drive of many area attractions. Several restaurants and a pharmacy are within five-minute walks, with a diner just one minute away on foot. The campus of California State University San Bernardino is just a three-minute stroll. Several excellent golf courses are within 10 to 15 minutes by car, with some as close as three minutes away. Driving to the El Paseo shopping district takes 12 minutes, and more shops and dining options are at Old Town La Quinta, which is 20 minutes by car. The Indian Wells Tennis Garden, Living Desert Zoo & Gardens, and Wet ‘n’ Wild Palm Springs are approximately a 15-minute drive. It’s about 20 minutes by car to Palm Springs International Airport and Palm Springs Convention Center. 

Like the hotel’s lobby, the suites are decorated in modern and cheerful style that emphasizes bright shades of blue, green, orange, and yellow, which helps to offset the lack of natural light in these spaces. Some of the furniture and carpets have busy patterns, such as the carpet with orange swirls and armchairs with various geometric shapes. Reddish-brown wood furniture that includes headboards, spacious desks, and kitchen cabinets help anchor the space. Granite-counter kitchenettes are furnished with small dining tables and chairs and come equipped with full-size fridges, dishwashers, microwaves, two-burner stovetops, coffeemakers, and utensils. 

The suites are clean, spacious, and come in Studio, One-Bedroom, and Two-Bedroom/Two-Bath options, with various King and Double-Queen bed configurations. They also include sleeper sofas in separate sitting areas and two 32-inch flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have wood vanities with tan granite tops. Most have white acrylic shower/tub combos, but some feature white showers with clear glass sliding doors. Neutrogena toiletries are provided. While generally quiet, ambient noise from the hallways and other rooms can be heard at times. 

This hotel offers all the amenities that travelers have come to expect from the Homewood Suites chain, including a free full breakfast buffet and a weekday manager’s reception with free food, beer, and wine. The outdoor pool is on the small side and tends to get crowded on hot days; the sundeck also offers a whirlpool. The 24/7 fitness center is small, with only a few cardio machines and free weights. The hotel's business center has two PCs with internet access and a printer. Two meeting rooms are available to groups, and free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the hotel. Valet laundry and dry cleaning services are available, and the hotel has a guest laundry room. Parking is free, and free newspapers (weekdays) and ice water are available in the lobby. A safe deposit box is available for guests to use. Pets are welcome with a surcharge.
