Warm, welcoming, and budget-friendly, My Hotel In France Le Marais almost has a hostel vibe. Its bright lobby with red accents, photographs of iconic Paris scenes, and comfortable leather pouffes to sit on send a low-key message. The breakfast room is cheery, and always abuzz with youthful guests. It’s a popular hotel for couples, solo travelers, and backpackers.

The hotel is located on a quiet side street in the northern Marais, within a five-minute walk of the Marche des Enfants Rouge, the oldest covered market in Paris. Known for its winding maze of multifaceted streets, the Marais is home to several small, fashionable boutiques, restaurants, art galleries galore, parks, historic buildings, and museums, including the Picasso Museum (an eight-minute walk from the hotel) and the Carnavelet Museum, which is dedicated to the history of Paris. The neighborhood has a rich mix of residents, but it's best known for the gay scene. My Hotel in France is about a five-minute walk to the Saint-Sebastien-Froissart metro station (Line 8), which connects at Place de la Bastille to Line 5 and Line 1. Line 1 crosses east-west across Paris, with stops at sights like the Louvre, Place de la Concorde, and several stations along the Champs-Elysees, including the Arc de Triomphe (Place Charles de Gaulle Etoile). 

Rooms are small but cheerfully decorated, with brown or red accent walls with bed pillows to match, and patterned fabric curtains. Single Rooms each come with one single bed, Double Rooms have queen-size beds, and Twin Rooms have two single beds. Closet and luggage space is sparse. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, desks with at least one chair, full-length mirrors, reading lights over the beds, and coffeemakers. The tiny bathrooms have small corner sinks and hairdryers, and some double rooms have shower/tub combos -- others have plastic stall showers. Be aware that the rooms do not have air-conditioning (fans are provided), and Paris can get hot in July and August.

The hotel has free Wi-Fi, a TV room and lounge area, a computer station with a printer in the lobby, and a small, cheery breakfast room with exposed stone brickwork. A hot and cold continental breakfast buffet is served every day, but it is not included in the room rate, and guests would probably do better by simply heading to a cafe. The connecting coffee bar serves drinks throughout the day, and limited room service is available. The reception desk is staffed 24 hours a day.
