The Iguazu Jungle Lodge is hidden down a dirt track on the northern edge of Puerto Iguazu. Its green-roofed buildings are scattered among lawns and nestled between tropical forests, while pretty streams cascade across the sloping grounds. The lobby is a bright and welcoming space, with exposed beams and roof rafters creating a rustic style that complements the jungle location. The charming poolside restaurant continues and amplifies this look, with rugged wood pillars, decorative stone walls, and antique furniture. Rooms are housed in small lodge buildings, creating a resort-like feel, and the property has a laid-back, peaceful atmosphere. Guests tend to be families and couples passing through to visit Iguazu Falls.

Iguazu Jungle Lodge is located on the outskirts of Puerto Iguazu, in a largely residential area and close to the river -- which forms the border with Brazil. It's about a 10-minute walk downtown for restaurants and shops, and about the same to the pretty Jardin de los Picaflores to see the hummingbirds. The national park -- for Iguazu Falls and the Macuco Trail -- is a 25-minute drive. The bus station in the center of town has regular connections to the park with a similar transit time, and also has routes to the international airports -- both Cataratas and Foz do Iguacu -- taking about 30 minutes. 

Rooms at the Iguazu Jungle Lodge have a simple, safari-inspired style with rattan embellishments on the white furniture, pale blue walls, and tiled floors. Family Suites include two bedrooms -- master bedrooms have their own small balconies -- plus living areas with small dining spaces and minibars. The Loft Suites have just one bedroom, but add large kitchens with dining space, microwaves, full-size refrigerators, ovens with stovetops, sinks and tableware. They also include living areas with sofa beds, and large terraces with outdoor dining tables. The Master Suites are new as of 2016, and have a more contemporary and colorful look plus double or twin beds, small seating areas, electric kettles, and balconies. All rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs in all bedrooms, and free Wi-Fi. 

Bathrooms are a little dark and dated, but relatively spacious, with toiletries and hairdryers. Family Suites have shower/tub combos with whirlpool jets and sliding screens, while the Loft Suites have large walk-in showers. Bathrooms in the newer Master Suites have jetted tubs.

The Iguazu Jungle Lodge has an outdoor pool in the pretty gardens. It's open year-round and includes a separate whirlpool, sun loungers, and a raised patio seating area. The poolside restaurant serves a buffet breakfast -- included in the room rates -- with hot and cold dishes. A la carte options are available throughout the day, and dinner is also served. Food is generally well liked by guests. There's a game room with a pool table, ping-pong, foosball, a TV area, and a small slide with ball pit. The games room also houses -- rather strangely -- a treadmill and exercise bike. There's a guest PC with internet in the lobby, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Reception is manned 24/7 and can arrange local trips, taxis, and laundry service.
