Two of the buildings house the Studio Apartments, while the third building houses four additional units. The reception area is small but bright, decorated with shelves full of colorful model cars. There's also a large rack of tourism brochures and a bench, but nowhere to really sit down and linger. Most guests are vacationers looking for a good deal close to town, and the hotel offers discounts for extended stays. Note that children under the age of 14 are not allowed at the motel.

Queenstown Motel Apartments is located on Frankton Road, which connects Queenstown to the airport. The hotel is about a block from Lake Wakatipu and about a seven-minute walk to the edge of Queenstown Gardens or into town, where there are plenty of shopping and dining options. Davies Park -- home of the Queenstown Events Center and Frankton Golf Course -- can be reached in about eight minutes by car. The Queenstown Airport is an 11-minute drive away.

Queenstown Motel Apartments offers 18 Studios in its two newer buildings and an additional four units in its older Alpha Wing. Studios have either king beds or two double beds and some come with lake views, but those located closest to the road may experience some traffic noise. Decor is pleasant and modern, with bright-orange or deep-gray accent walls and colorful upholstered chairs, plus light-wood dressers and desks. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs with satellite cable, blackout curtains, and kitchenettes with mini-fridges, toasters, and kettles, but no stoves or ovens. Bathrooms are simple and feature shower/tub combos. Toiletries and hairdryers are provided.

Like most apartment-style properties in Queenstown, amenities at the motel are limited. There's a laundry room with a couple of washing machines and a coin-operated dryer. On-site parking and Wi-Fi are both free. The owners live on-site and are generally available to offer assistance. Luggage storage is offered.
