The Lindos Sun Hotel is a stylish property with traditional yet modern decor in a rustic setting that attracts couples, mainly from the United Kingdom. The hotel's exterior is the white-washed masonry typical of the Greek islands. Set off a lightly traveled road with a parking lot to one side, the hotel sits on naturalistic grounds interspersed with tended gardens that include oleander and hibiscus. Inside, the property has chic touches, such as hand-loomed carpets and handmade pillows strewn around a banquette in rose-colored fabric. There are clay urns with fresh flowers and a reception desk in the signature blues of the area. Outside the rooms and their terraces, there are stone and concrete walkways that include four-poster sunbeds with white linen canopies. The hotel's restaurant serves meals on a terrace with a pergola to filter sunlight or in an air-conditioned room, both with views of the bay across the street. There's a circular, blue-tile outdoor shower at the main pool. The pool, large and amorphous in shape, is surrounded by grass with loungers either under trees or umbrellas. The Lindos Sun Hotel sits across from St. Paul's Bay, a four-minute drive to the village of Lindos and an hour's drive to central Rhodes. Psaltos Beach is across the street, but it's an 11-minute walk primarily because of the rocky terrain. Many guests walk to the center of Lindos, a hilly, 20-minute trek on foot. St. Paul's Bay, with a striking church on a hill, is a three-minute drive. It is a seven-minute drive to the Acropolis of Lindos. The resort area of Pefkos is an 18-minute drive. The bustling Rhodes Harbor is an hour's drive, as is Prasonisi and its picturesque beaches. The main district of Rhodes, including its archaeological museum, is a one-hour drive away; guests say that the bus, which stops in front of the hotel, takes three hours. Rhodes International Airport is one hour away by car. 

The 40 guest rooms at Lindos Sun Hotel have a spare and airy feel thanks to a wash of white-on-white decor, arched passageways, and views of the sea. A few colorful paintings adorn the walls, along with mirrors in vintage wood frames. Some rooms have their own pools, and all have terraces or balconies with mesh chairs and wood tables near small gardens. Guests rave about the Coco Mat-branded beds made up in white, high-quality linens. Some rooms have beds on platforms with drawers underneath, reached by stairs. Windows are shielded by shutters or, on sliding doors, pinch-pleated linen drapes. Amenities include air-conditioning, mini-fridges, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Higher-priced rooms add tea- and coffee-making facilities, and free water. Bathrooms are either tiled or plastered and painted to resemble natural stone. They're outfitted with square, modern sinks set on thin marble counters plus showers with rainfall showerheads. Although the Lindos Sun Hotel looks spare, it has a solid lineup of amenities. There's a large freeform pool bordered by loungers and sun umbrellas. A poolside snack house offers drinks and light fare; guests routinely highlight the reasonably priced and tasty cocktails. The breakfast, a buffet that includes cooked-to-order items, and fruit and bread, is included in the rate. A nightly buffet dinner is offered as well, although many guests opt to dine elsewhere. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, and there is a computer for guests' use in the lobby. In-room massages are offered for a fee with 24 hours' notice. There's a rental car service at the front desk and a bus stop outside the hotel. On-site parking is free. The property is ADA compliant on its first floor.
