Crosti Hotel is situated on a quiet side street and is housed in a five-floor building erected in the late 19th century. A separate building of apartments is located a short walk away. Guests enter the main building to a simple lobby done in beige, with a wood reception desk and ample natural light coming in through big windows. The only other major public space is the breakfast area, a windowless room with arches. However, you're unlikely to see anyone lounging in either space as there's not much of a social scene here. The hotel's clean and affordably priced rooms -- as well as its proximity to Piazza della Repubblica -- are a draw for leisure travelers, including couples, families, and groups of friends.

Crosti Hotel is on a quiet side street in central Rome's Castro Pretorio neighborhood (Rione XVIII). It's not the best location for walking to Rome's major sights, but there are plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops a short walk away. There are a few historic landmarks of note nearby, including the Baths of Diocletian and the 16th-century Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels (designed by Michelangelo) -- both are a five-minute walk away. Piazza della Repubblica, with its famous Fountain of the Naiads, is a little under 10 minutes away on foot. The Indipendenza bus stop is a three-minute stroll from the hotel, and the Castro Pretorio Metro station is a five-minute walk. Termini Station takes five minutes to reach in a cab, or 10 minutes on foot. Rome's major attractions -- the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Roman Forum, the Colosseum, and St. Peter's Basilica -- are all within 15 to 25 minutes by bus or metro. Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is a little over a half-hour drive form the hotel, or about 40 minutes by train from Termini Station. 

Crosti Hotel has 20 rooms in a main building and eight apartments in a separate annex nearby. All have a simple, spartan look, with wooden dorm-like furniture, soft-hued fabrics, and a piece or two of Rome-centric art on the walls. The furniture in apartments is a bit classier, and done in darker wood tones. The location is fairly quiet and windows are double glazed, so noise isn't an issue. Rooms range from 96 square feet (nine square meters) to 269 square feet (25 square meters) in size, so some are tiny. Larger rooms have window bench seating. Apartments are more spacious and include kitchens with microwaves and coffeemakers. Air-conditioning, safes, basic minibars (with room for cold storage), free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs with satellite and pay-per-view channels come standard. The TVs are only 20-inch units, and are small (especially in larger rooms). Bathrooms are well-lit and clean, and all come with showers, bidets, heated towel racks, and hairdryers.

Crosti Hotel is about as low-fills as it gets, so features are predictably slim. A daily breakfast buffet features an ample spread of eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries, cakes, and other continental items, though it isn't included with all rates. The hotel has no bar or restaurant, but there are many options in the surrounding area. A restaurant affiliated with the hotel's owners is located a three-minute walk away. It specializes in traditional Roman cuisine, pasta, and seafood. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
